We decided to make a reservation at Steps of Rome for lunch from our dinner party the night before at Al Dente. Julie from Al Dente told us that Steps of Rome is their sister company. Julie made the reservation for us. The next morning, right after we had our hangover relief soup from next door, we worked our way to the middle of Plazuela, to the Steps of Rome. Our long table was inside the restaurant and all decked out. My two buddies and I arrived a bit early because we were just next door but decided to settle ourselves at the table anyway. We had about 15 to 20 mins to spare......what to do beside talking about the past decades.....more San Mig Light of course. There we met Ed, the restaurant manager. A nice, friendly, person of a few words but he get things done. He made us feel at ease right away. Every dishes that the staff recommended to us were great and some like the Crispy Pata were ordered by friends that visited Steps of Rome before. To our surprise, we got complimentary appetizers and desserts. I had to ask Ed if what did we do to deserve it, his response was.....”because you guys were at Al Dente last night and knows how to party”.....niiiiiccceeeee, so what to do again..... We made another reservation for dinner later that day. I had been back to Steps of Rome about 3 or 4 times since then. Saw Julie from Al Dente there with the friendly and courteous staff. Ed, keep up the great work.
