“Comfortable Bed but no Wifi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights with my bf on Dec 2012. The location was good, easy to ride a cab when you exit the hotel since taxis are always waiting in line.
It is also walking distance from fave Cebu restaurant, Casa Verde. Mcdonalds and Jollibee are also beside the building. There is a Starbucks in the lobby too.
Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I like that they have extra pillows that we can use. The bathroom has a tub which is a plus for me since i love taking a dip before sleeping.
Breakfast buffet was average, some of them looked like remains from the dinner buffet.
Wifi was not available inside the rooms so we had to go to the lobby or their restaurants to get access. It was a hassle going out since we're used to having wifi in our rooms.
We also went to the top floors to experience the Edge Coaster. It was a fun ride but they didn't allow us to use our own camera while we were riding the coaster. You have to pay for your pictures which they took with their own camera. The pictures were expensive but at least we captured the experience.
Overall, it was a good stay since everything was accessible in the area. They would have to maintain the area outside the hotel though, since it looked dirty.

Checked in at tower one, thus there was no need to transfer elevators when going to the room. Room had seaside view and since the hotel was the tallest in the sea, you can see a lot of what Cebu has to offer. Overall, it was a pleasant experience to stay in this hotel.

Good:
Spacious and clean room
Very good location
Activities offered inside the hotel

Bad:
Uncleaned outside windows
No wifi, but with LAN cable
So-so breakfast buffet at Cafe Glo
So-so dinner buffet at Sparkz
Very commercialized hotel with lots of advertisements in the lobby and elevators

Checked in at TOWER 1. first off, NO WIFI in the room. You have to go down to the lobby or to other floors where cafe / restaurants are located to connect via wifi. There is internet connection in the room though but via hard/land wire cable, so if you're using smart phones, tabs, i-phone, etc. not really useful. Good TV. Bar fridge. Nice restaurant, ate at the 50's Bar Restaurant, located in the hotel, with a live band playing. Also ate at Glo Cafe, good food as well. Have a Gun Shooting facility at the basement where you can experience shooting a live weapon (for rent) of your choice, from handgun to shotgun to automatic sub machine. KTV bar. Chinese Restaurant. Photo Op with Mactan the Bengal Tiger. Skyway Walk. Wall Climbing. Walking distance from other restaurants when you step out of the hotel, also near a Robinson's Mall, Mercury Drugstore, McDonald's, Jollibee, Chowking among others. Convenience store located just at the ground floor of the hotel that is open 24 hours. Nice pools (3 different pools), not very clean though, and the shower room sucks, only one shower which is also open (no separate area or door), the bathroom is also located inside, no hangers / hooks to hang your towel / dry changing clothes, so when you are taking a shower and somebody comes in to pee they would see you in all your glory. Very slow elevators (one of the elevator was broken when we were there). Confusing elevator services as well, since you have to switch from tower 1 and tower 2 to access different facilities in the hotel. Confusing Safety box. Most of the requests that you would need have charges in them (where other hotels don't charge), like extra blanket, towel, they even charge you for ice.

This is an acceptable hotel in a great location. It's Philippines, so I try not to be too critical of the downside. The room was quite nice, & clean enough inside. For a new hotel, it looks like it needs upgrading already. The 21" analog tv has digital cable, but what's the use? On the 28th floor the view was spectacular. Sadly, it was obvious that they never cleaned the windows since the place was built. The swimming pools were nice enough. Go in the late afternoon unless you like cold water. The free breakfast was nauseating at any price. If you do get it for free, go for it I guess. Otherwise, run like the wind to the nearest exit. There is a 24 hour convenience store on premise, but the prices there are criminally high. There are restaurants & a supermarket within short walking distance. There is no in-room wifi. The internet connection is hard-wired & deadly slow. Be sure to ask the front desk for the cable on check-in.

Very good location, at the heart of the city. Their rooms are clean and they smell good. Staffs are helpful and efficient. Their rooms are also good. Bathroom was okay. Their food were good and had a lot of choices. We had booked a room at the top floor and it was fantastic and wonderful.. Very romantic.. :)

Room Tip: Ask if you can have the rooms on the top floor. :)

The hotel, facilities and restaurants inside the hotel were very good. Which was great, given we were westerners staying in Cebu and attracted an enormous amount of attention every time we left the hotel. Wifi was limited to certain floors and not available in the rooms, which proved challenging at times. Hotel was fine, Cebu itself would give a miss. The only real negative in relation to the hotel, was when we went to pay the bill (which was in US dollars) they converted it to Pesos at a made up inflated hotel rate, adding about 10% to the bill in conversion alone.

It's an okay stay at Crown Regency. It's affordable, and nice. Room was spacious and beautiful. I did not like the pool temperature which was too cold. This totally ruined my vacation. Oh, I forgot to mention that the 4D theater sucks big time.
