“Hope to stay here longer next time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012

Quest is one of the newest hotels in Cebu. It is conveniently located across Ayala Center at the heart of the city. I immediately made reservations here for my short trip to Cebu and didn't regret my decision to do so.

If you want to eat out, watch a movie or go shopping, the Ayala Center is there for you to enjoy. Staying at the hotel is a great idea though.

From the doorman to the front desk to the rest of the hotel staff, you can feel their hospitality and respect for their guests. They even put their right hand on their left chest as they bow and greet you with a smile. Small things like that make you feel at home.

The size of their rooms are just right. They're clean and chic. The aircondition is just right and their free wifi is quite fast.

Too bad, I was not able to try their breakfast because I had to checkout at 4:30a.m. I was told by a colleague that they serve good food. Next time, I'll try my best to get a taste of it and to stay at the hotel longer.

Dear purplefrance,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and comment on your experience.

Our signature greeting of the "Heartfelt Service" is something that we believe in and the staff really enjoy doing it. I'm glad it left an impression with you. We do try to give the best in service.

I noticed you are a Senior Contributor..keep it up.

It is too bad that you had to leave early and we also hope that you will be able to stay with us longer the next time you are in Cebu.

I noticed your user name...did you stay with us because our logo is purple??

Look forward to seeing you again.

Sincerely,

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

The hotel is located conveniently in front of the Ayala mall. I could just cross the street to meet friends, have a massage or a meal. But for guests coming in a car, finding the hotel entrance was a challenge. The room was quite modern - the type of comfort and simplicity that I appreciate very much. Colors fitted very well, and as the hotel is new, everything really looked spic and span. Free internet connection was available, and I could connect two gadgets without any problem. Asking for extra plates and utensils was also unproblematic and did not cause any inconvenience at check out. Flat screen tv, safe, and water boiler are available. Breakfast was great and meets international standards. I was very satisfied and thus booked a reservation for a friend coming to Cebu this May 2012.

Dear thesupr,

I think you are the top contributor with 60 reviews who has reviewed our hotel, thank you for taking the time.

I'm pleased to see that we are accomplishing our goals and Guest Service and F&B are standing out as key areas that we are doing well. Early on we had some complaints on the breakfast buffet as we had just opened, however now I think we are on the right track.

Let me know your friends name who will be staying with us this month and I will see to it he is well looked after..

Once again, thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely,
Quest Cebu General Manager

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

We are a group of 6 friends who will be visiting Cebu from 22 June to 30 June 2012. Cebu city was our last stop on our holiday and we were interested to stay at the Quest due to the raving reviews we read about it. One of us will be having our birthdays on 26 Jun while another 2 have birthdays falling together on 30 June. We hoped to stay at the Quest Hotel for 1 night on 29 June so that we could celebrate in the city and still have a great stay and rest at our Hotel. We contacted the Hotel via the Live Chat function on their website, requesting for a late check-out as we were likely to be out till late at night on 29 June and were afraid that we would not wake in time to make the 12noon check-out time. I mentioned to the customer service officer that our flight is at 8pm and she replied that a late check-out till 8pm would be considered a full-day charge AND subjected to availability. I totally understand that no hotel would provide late check-out till 8pm, and neither would we need the room till 8pm, as we just needed to check out slightly later than noon, leave our bags with the hotel and do some last minute shopping etc before being at the airport by 6pm. I explained to the Customer Service Officer that we wouldn't need the room till 8pm, and asked her what time would she be able to offer us late check-out until? Sadly, she said that they would not be able to offer late checkout as their hotel policy is 12noon as check-out time.

I have stayed in many hotels in many different countries, and also worked in one before, and while i understand that this is hotel policy, i do think that a slightly late checkout could be offered depending on the circumstances and different situations/occasions. And with the subject to availability disclaimer clause, i do think that if the hotel is unable to provide late checkout of even an hour or two to us (subjected to availability) for 3 rooms (6 of us), it would be nice to have even 1 or 2 rooms, just for us to have additional ample time to shower and freshen up before heading out.

With this in mind, guests who are looking to celebrate their birthdays in Cebu City and have a good hotel stay, are probably better off looking for some other hotels. We read that some hotels even help to arrange for a surprise celebration & cake, or even surprise the guests on their accord.

Dear miss_imperfect,

Thank you for your comments on our check out policies,

As we are running a business here and the hotel policy is to check people in by 2 PM with a clean room, not knowing our occupancy it is impossible to promise someone a free late check out so far in advance.

We would not be able to sell the room if you are still in it because you were partying late the night before.

If however the room our guests are in are not being sold the following day we can be flexible in allowing guests to check out a few hours late for a charge and often for no charge.

Hopefully you will find the time to stay in our hotel and give a review based on your experiences here at Quest.

I am also pleased that you were able to take advantage of our "Live Chat" feature on our website, it is quite helpful for our potential guests.

Sincerely.
Quest Cebu General Manager

Fellow travelers, we found a little slice of paradise right smack in the centre of Cebu and wanted to share the news with you :)

My fiancee and I have stayed at several hotels in Mactan, but never in the city proper. However, Holy Week prices were double of what they normally are so we took a chance with Quest (as we have stayed with their sister property, the Crimson Resort and Spa, another fantastic Resort).

It was well worth the gamble.

Upon arrival we were greeted by name with the warmest, most heartfelt smiles by all staff members. That familiarity lasted throughout the entire weeks stay. Brand spanking new, and still under construction for its July Grand Opening, the architecture is fashion forward with soft pastels and warm woods throughout. High end fixtures and furnishings set the standard for this three star hotel, which I'm sure in no time will ascertain the rating of four star when fully completed.

With Ayala Mall directly across the street, you have easy access to shopping, bowling and movies... not to mention a terrific selection of restaurants for variety. Taxis are out front of the hotel and can whisk you around town for a very small price... there's just so many things to do in the town. We recommend the Taoist Shrine and the Museum of Cebu as just two examples. Or try SM Mall just down the road.

Our Premiere Deluxe room on the pool level included a large balcony, perfect for drying clothes and sitting outside to watch the stars and moonlight. The beds are super, a perfect balance between hard and soft, with a backboard created around Cebuano architecture. The mini bar is priced right, and has a selection of beer, soft drinks and water which are replenished daily by a team of hard working room attendants. A large LCD TV with so many channels will entertain if you feel like hanging around the room, and a turn down service is available upon request. Feel free to ask for extra towels, they are more than happy to assist.

Room service and the restaurant are both excellent; we recommend their unique Club Sandwich, the Quest Pizza and the addictive Thai Chicken Curry. Prices are very competitive. Our bill at checkout was surprisingly low considering how much we ate and drank throughout the week.

And the pool ..... it was an amazing oasis of relaxation for the morning and evening time! The angle of the pool, on the seventh floor, keeps the sun out of direct view until just after noontime which is great for people who don't want to sizzle. At only 4 feet deep it is perfect for novice swimmers and families with children. We spent a lot of time there, ordering food and drinks to our hearts delight :) Met lots of nice people there too, with memories to cherish for a lifetime

In closing, I must emphasize that the General Manager and his staff went out of their way to make us feel more than welcome. We felt truly feel at home and relaxed. Mr. Hanes, thanks again for everything! We are looking so forward to our return again next month to see the smiles that made our first trip so rewarding.

Congratulations Quest on a job VERY well done! You deserve it!!

For asian standard, the room is small with two single beds. The bathroom is in light gray and white motiff and has the effect of clean and immaculate look. Toiletries of shampoo, body wash and soap are the basic provisions in the bathroom. At least there is an electric kettle with coffee/tea to choose. WIFI is complimentary in the room and can be slow sometimes. It has a pool on the 7th floor for those who care for a dip or swim.
Location is opposite Cebu's premier mall, the Ayala.

Room Tip: Request for a room on the higher floor and on the main road, the Arch. Reyes Ave.

i was at the Quest for nearly 3 weeks, off and on, during feb 2012. new facility. wonderful staff—i was at the parklane at first (not recommended) and the Quest security guards would greet me as i walked by, even helped my cross the street on occasion, and that was before i was a guest at their hotel! clean clean clean. close to ayala, across the street.

you can find cheaper places in cebu and more expensive. but, unless your on a real tight budget or don't care about budgets, the Quest is a great place.
