“Very Nice Hotel and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

Spent two nights and was very happy with my stay. As previously mentioned the lobby is grand and as nice as most 5 star hotels. Checked in at 9:00 am and they were able to give me a room that early. I thought that was a great start. Security is outstanding. Can't use the elevator without a room card. They even had a dog at the front entrance checking luggage. There were hotel staff at every entrance and exit as well as at the elevators. The elevators also had cameras. The room was large with a very comfortable king size bed, large screen LCD TV with many channels as well as several premium movie channels. The bathroom was very nice with a large shower which had a fixed shower head as well as a handheld one. The water pressure was great and the water was so hot that you had to be careful because it took a maybe 10-15 seconds to stabilize at a temperature after you moved the handle. There were extra towels as well as soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, tooth paste and other assorted items you might need. The air conditioning was quite and cooled fast. The WIFI and Ethernet were both pretty slow, but they were free.
The pool was large and beautiful. They kept it spotless as there were people cleaning it continually. I did not use any of the restaurants. The room service menu was pretty extensive and the prices were about as good as I've seen for room service. There was a for charge mini bar with cold drinks and assorted munchies. There was two free bottles of water a day and free coffee and tea.
I would recommend this place to any of my friends.

The only negative and it could be a large one if your not careful. The steps leading from the hotel to the SM Mall next door were steep, wet and there were no handrails. Even when dry it could be dangerous. A fall down these steps could have brought an abrupt end to a wonderful vacation. Steps in other locations such as leading to the pool all had handrails.

We had one week in an Executive Suite at the Radisson Blu.
The property is modern and very well appointed. Check in was smooth and the room was as expected. Only thing letting the room down was the bedding, which felt cheap and was not of the high thread count you would usually expect from a hotel of this class.
The staff in the restaurant were a mixed bag too. One would not let me leave till our breakfasts had been confirmed, and was quite rude about it. The next day I was told by another "that my free breakfast was in the VIP lounge, and I had to pay to eat downstairs! " I soon put her right, but found it very irritating. Also on another visit, I ordered Soup and some pasta, the pasta came first ! So I cancelled the soup (appetizer) - 10 min later the soup appeared, I told the waiter politely again I cancelled it and he got in a real state over it.
We were there during a 6.8 earthquake, and the hotel handled this very well.
Overall a nice place, doing what it says on the box.

First impression, great lobby, high ceiling, blue giant Christmas tree.
Polite quick check in, good elevators, excellent personnel greeting and directing you.
Very good room, has all you need, and more.
"Feria" restaurant is great. Our breakfast was included. Great, good food, great selection, helpful pleasant personnel!
Great pool area in back of hotel. Parklike area surrounding it, and is well kept.
Walk across to SM Mall. Keep your better half on a short leash cause there is lots of money to spend for all you may need (or not need)!

We stayed for 2 nights upon our arrival in Cebu after a LONG trip from the U.S. First 2 negatives. No shuttle from the airport; and the hotel never responded to our e-mail inquiry about this. The front desk staff also confused our type of room reserved with another type. Otherwise, a new, beautiful hotel conveniently situated near the SM shopping mall. The lobby is huge and well decorated. The pool area is simple but very attractive.

Wow, what a hotel! Everything is classy and looks great, which is pretty amazing in a city like Cebu. The pool is wonderful. The staff gets the highest grade from me and the mall next door(sm mall) is THE place to shop.

Got this place on Agoda via Tripadvisor for a great price. A mate booked in advance via a travel agency 2 months prior and got a suite at $130usd/night.

Bottom line is - great deals can be found within this hotel.

What impressed me was because friends were staying in other hotels when the earthquake hit. The Radisson was professional and made announcements to inform guests to evacuate the building or to avoid using lifts etc. Whereas a check at other top ranked hotels showed that they did no such thing and left guests to fend for themselves.

Something I like about the Radisson Blu is the location to the shopping mall. Right next to where you stay you get plenty of choices with regards to food and shopping.

The buffet in the hotel is also regarded as one of the best in Cebu.

However a word of advice for those arriving early like I did - if u want a place to rest , book an extra night for it. Forget about getting an early check in at 6am. The earliest they can check you in is 10am. If you wish to check in at 5am/6am you will have to pay half the walk in rack rate which I did at 4,000pesos. You can pay 4,000pesos for a night with breakfast in advance and save you all the hassle. Don't even try "tipping" front desk - it didn't work.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Smoking floors are noisier than non-smoking wones and consider spending a bit of money on the suites...

Using a popular discount website we got rooms for P5,100 which is very very cheap for such a lovely hotel. It stands practical comparison to any 4/5* start city hotel I've stayed in. Got everything you would expect and the the main buffet restaurant is tremendous and very reasonably priced. I estimate you could fit a 737 in the lobby so it's not short on a bit grandeur too.

It is a no brainer to stay here if the city location suits you.
