Description: Maya was created to be a casual restaurant and tequila lounge: laid back and subtle, with efficient service and reasonably priced. The sophisticated yet casual allure of Maya seamlessly blends old world charm with modern elegance. Succulent aromas from the kitchen mix tradition and ingenuity while setting the stage for your dining pleasure. Maya also has the largest selection of 100% pure agave tequilas in the country, which in addition to our premium house pours are sure to charm.Maya is committed to the timeless tradition of Mexican food – utilizing countless ingredients and dishes, and perhaps most importantly, the rich family tradition of preparation, which is done by hand using the freshest local ingredients that are regionally available. By embracing both Mexican tradition and local sensibility, we offer a creatively classic cuisine that unites well-known Mexican street food from the stalls of Mexico City and family dishes from the coast of the Mayan Riviera and the inventiveness of the Hispanic American communities of California and the American Southwest.

“Great interior. Not so good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012 via mobile

With all the hype i was so frustrated with the food choices. Not at all authentic mexican. It is a TexMex Resto.
I had to ask several times for my salsa verde. It was as if i was talking chinese to the waitress when i was asking for it when my carnitas was served.
Food servers are not good in describing the serving portions of the meals. A meal good for 1 person to them is really for sharing. Thus be careful when ordering. You might end up with too many to fill you up.
Drinking water took forever to be served.

“The best of Cebu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

The birthday dinner for my girlfriend last night at Maya was exceptional. The service and food are one of the very best in the Philippines. The staff/service was great, efficient, timely, and friendly. Unlike many Philippines restaurants, all the food was excellent and served at the same time and hot. You really do have the best restaurant in Cebu. I have been to Maya many times and will be back again and highly recommend to all by friends.

“Mexican with a difference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

We came here for my birthday & were pleasantly surprised with a lovely wedge of chocolate lovliness that they created especially.

Not your usual Mexican, obviously a bit of thought has gone into putting a new twist on traditional flavours & presentation.

Not fine dining (see sister restaurant Abaca review), but certainly nice surroundings & attentive staff.

Nice touch to have both the manager & head chef come to see us for a chat, certainly made us both feel very welcome.

Easy to order too much...as there's so many yummy things on the menu!

“Best Mexican Food in SE Asia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

I'm originally from San Diego, and have been living in SE Asia for more than a decade. One thing I miss is fresh Mexican cuisine. I came into Cebu from Singapore for a conference and found Maya, and it hit the spot. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and everything was delicious. I now have to contemplate how often I will return to Cebu just to visit Maya!
