Description: Maya was created to be a casual restaurant and tequila lounge: laid back and subtle, with efficient service and reasonably priced. The sophisticated yet casual allure of Maya seamlessly blends old world charm with modern elegance. Succulent aromas from the kitchen mix tradition and ingenuity while setting the stage for your dining pleasure. Maya also has the largest selection of 100% pure agave tequilas in the country, which in addition to our premium house pours are sure to charm.Maya is committed to the timeless tradition of Mexican food – utilizing countless ingredients and dishes, and perhaps most importantly, the rich family tradition of preparation, which is done by hand using the freshest local ingredients that are regionally available. By embracing both Mexican tradition and local sensibility, we offer a creatively classic cuisine that unites well-known Mexican street food from the stalls of Mexico City and family dishes from the coast of the Mayan Riviera and the inventiveness of the Hispanic American communities of California and the American Southwest.

“Mexican with a difference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

We came here for my birthday & were pleasantly surprised with a lovely wedge of chocolate lovliness that they created especially.

Not your usual Mexican, obviously a bit of thought has gone into putting a new twist on traditional flavours & presentation.

Not fine dining (see sister restaurant Abaca review), but certainly nice surroundings & attentive staff.

Nice touch to have both the manager & head chef come to see us for a chat, certainly made us both feel very welcome.

Easy to order too much...as there's so many yummy things on the menu!

“Best Mexican I've tried!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

I've read a lot of raves about this restaurant..and they were right!Maya is the best Mexican restaurant here in the country!Ambience is cozy.conducive for romantic dates or quiet dinner with friends or family.Interiors are so classy and exquisite with the colorful masks and skulls.Food is superb!we ordered the nachos with toppings and it was truly unforgettable!if only we could find something like that in Manila!the burritos was also good!the Churros melts in your mouth!the trip from Mactan to Crossroads was truly worthwhile because we had a pleasant dining experience not to mention satisfied tummies!Hope they will open here in Manila!

“Best Mexican Food in SE Asia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

I'm originally from San Diego, and have been living in SE Asia for more than a decade. One thing I miss is fresh Mexican cuisine. I came into Cebu from Singapore for a conference and found Maya, and it hit the spot. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and everything was delicious. I now have to contemplate how often I will return to Cebu just to visit Maya!

“Surface, no substance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Maya looks impressive from the outside and looks very nice on the inside. It caters to the AB market, and nothing wrong with that. If only the food would also be as good as the prices they charged for it. It is at best, average. And the margaritas we had, maybe we came at an off night, but watery???With the prices charged, no excuse for that. As I said, all for show.

“Maya? Anytime!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

I like this restaurant. It's got great atmosphere... I wouldn't call it cheap and i am glad for that. Everything is handmade and the ingredients fresh and right on the dot - probably as close as you can get to authentic Mexican in the Philippines but with a dash of Tex-Mex. if you do go, see if Chef Aimee is around. She will explain her passion for the food and help you order!
