“Cebu Best Kept Secret Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We've travel around Philippines and so far this is one of the best heritage house collection we find. Its truly a gem and rich in cultural value to see this dwelling and collection still standing up to this present time. Its a living museum that brings you back to past centuries. One of the best kept secret Cebu can offer to its visitor.

Will take you about 30 ~ 1 hour to explore those historical gem.

Great to check out after a long hot day in bustling Cebu City. You are able to wander at your own accord, and take n the beautiful decor and house design.

“Most Unusual and Rather Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

This well-preserved house from the late 18th century is a marvel to visit. When we toured the house, the current owners were due to arrive and stay in the house that evening! We were given a tour of the complete home, including the living areas of the current owners.

This home has original timbers and other materials used in its original construction, with newer components added where necessary to replace things. The house has many antique items that are very interesting - showing the furniture, pictures, and housewares that were used by this family of Chinese heritage in the Philippines.

Also very interesting, the guides/staff actually live in the home, in the lower/basement level. When we visited, they were preparing their evening meal. I've been in a lot of preserved old homes, but this is the only one in my memory in which the caretakers/guides live in the home. It is also very interesting to me that the current owners (the husband is 8th generation) come to stay in the home from time to time. This is not a fancy, modern home, but is quite primitive by modern standards, with antique furniture in rather rustic condition, and all, so it has the feel throughout of the time of its origin.

The cost per visitor is only 50 Pesos - quite a bargain for the experience!

“A perfect preservation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

Giving this house a perfect score because few can preserve a home like this. Things are purely authentic which is very amazing and the house keeper is very accomodating.
