“value lodging”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

cockroachs , smoker's smell , and an area that is absolutely crazy , the city's madness is right at the front door of this hotel ! BUT inspite of all that ; it is good value for cebu city , the air con in my room worked well { too cold } maybe , hot watershower worked , large bed with good sheets , tile floor , good lock on the door , inside room = no dog, rooster or street noise .
good value as the owner spend a great deal of money on these large rooms. large tile bathroom CR . : no refrigerator may be a problem for some people but they do have hot and cold drinking water in the lobby . BUY 3 n 1 coffee , bring a cup .
This is an ok stop over one or two nights , one week max. ( i would think) .
cockroachs are a BIG PROBLEM ! But one can get byegone insect spray from the maid ..
If you do not have the budget for 1000 peso a night room near ayala than this is not a bad option.
FOOD = on sansianko street OUR PLACE REST. has great fried potatoes (home fries)
metro colon super market is close for bread and 3 n 1 coffee etc:
jollibee and mc do in the area; get old quickly . go to ayala mall ;14 D jeepney for better food :

Room Tip: Difficult to find , get their phone number so you can call them for directions.. located between col...

I just need a place to stay overnight before traveling to my next destination. Since this one is considerably near the port, I decided to book here and stay for the night. I originally asked for the cheapest room but the receptionist informed me that only the deluxe room is available for the night. I took the room and paid for the deposit (since there is a deposit amount which is to be refunded upon checking out).

To my dismay, the room itself is not worth it. Not that I am picky, but it is below average standards. The air-condition was not functioning. The shower is broken. The room has a very unpleasant smell. There are cockroaches.

I informed the staff about the shower and the aircon but they paid no attention to my concerns. My stay here was horrible. I definitely wont recommend this place. There are lots of other accommodation around the area which are better and of the same price.

Pros:

- Cheap. Economy room (550 pesos per night) is excellent value, IF you can get it (rather, if the staff allows you to get it).

- Easy jeep access to Ayala and SM.

Cons:

- Bait and switch. When I first arrived, I requested the economy room at 550 per night but was told that their cheapest room was 750 pesos. I left and came back later to be told that a 600 peso room was available. Later they had to move me to a 550 peso room because of broken aircons. Classic bait and switch tactic, likely a management decision as I saw different receptionists do the same thing over the course of a week.

- Everything was broken. The aircon in my first room didn't work, shower head mount was broken, and the toilet valve in my bathroom was leaking. I reported these but the staff didn't care.

- Cockroaches running around everywhere. In the room, in the hallway, and in the lobby.

- No in-room wifi, only in the lobby, and the connection was terrible.

- Terrible area, being in downtown Colon. Not a single good meal in the area.

Overall:

The room was bearable but I don't think I'd stay here again and definitely wouldn't recommend it to others.

Cebu city downtown, where the premise is located, is a very poor area. Dangerous, dirty, smelly and so on. Anyway la guardia offers quite big rooms for a cheap price. Tv is not functioning (I tried 2 rooms). Tell the receptionist you don't want a road-side room if you don't want to wake up at 530.

Stayed there for a night only in their Deluxe Room. The location is quite accessible since it's in downtown Cebu, right in the busy streets of Colon. At night, it doesn't get better with the noise. Jeepney barkers keep on yelling all night long. And the worst part there is there are little cockroaches running randomly in the room, bathroom, dresser, cabinet and even in your bed. Housekeeping did nothing with out complain. I will give 2 out 5 for their staffs courtesy and accommodation.

Room Tip: Choose a more remote room.

The location downtown is quite convenient, specially if you want to get a ferryboat - if you go next to the Collonades Mall (Colon St), you can get a jeepney for 8php to get to pier 4 (if you go to one of the other piers, it's probably cheaper, as the distance is less). If you want to get a flight, it's much cheaper to sleep there and get a taxi than to sleep in Lapu Lapu.
The surroundings of the hotel aren't great, but no problems whatsoever - some prostitution around and some beggars, specially on the Colon St.
The staff is efficient and you have to leave a deposit of 300 php, no matter which room you take, and that you recover in the end, after someone checks if you left the room in one piece.
We stayed twice, when travelling between islands. The first time, we got a deluxe room (no cheaper room), facing the main street - terrible! The noise went on the whole night, the light outside was so strong it seemed day the whole night! The bathroom was ok, the room floor was not that clean. There were cockroaches around - but near ports/piers, you have to expect some, at least. The bed was confortable and the linen and towels were clean.
The second time, we took the cheapest room (economy), which is good value - this time, we asked for a room which was not facing the main street, and we slept really well. We also observed the same thing: clean towels and linen, comfortable bed, bathroom ok, room floor could be cleaner.
If you intend to stay only one night in Cebu and you want to save money and stay at a safe hotel, with acceptable rooms, this is a good choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face Pres. Osmeña Blvd (otherwise, you probably won't sleep with th...

Location
The location is located in Colon, I can see it as a divisoria type of place.

Price
We were three and we paid a deluxe room for only Php 1000 with a deposit of Php 300.

Room
The room was good, like a 4 star out of 5. There is no hot and cold shower, the airconditioning unit was set on a timer. Our room was located on the fifth floor, very far if you party all night.

Front Desk
The Front Desk Agent doesn't have an accomodating face but she is such a nice woman. She let us check in early.
