(without even using the bathroom) I noticed that there was something leaking from the water heater under the sink so I called housekeeping for assistance, they came after 30 minutes and after checking, called someone from engineering. Fixed it then left. After about another 30 minutes, I heard some sound coming from the bathroom again and to my surprise, it was flooded! Called housekeeping to get the engineering person again. Since I wanted urgency, I called them back, and in those 4 times no one was answering. They fixed it already but I stayed for an hour more in the room, because even if they assured me it wont happen again (and that would be for the 3rd time) I didnt go out for the sake of checking cause i might go back to the hotel where it's not just the bathroom that's flooded but the entire room! And all they said was sorry for the inconvenience. Poor service/plumbing.

I stayed here for three nights for a conference, which was taking place in the hotel itself.

Check-in was the low-point of the visit. My colleague and I had booked "Corner Rooms" through a booking web site, but when we arrived we were both just given normal "superior" rooms. When we enquired, they said they had no corner rooms available but had upgraded us to the "superior plus" package, which included free access to the executive floor and gym - i.e., things we did not need or want.

I explained we didn't plan to pay extra for things we didn't want, and we asked to be given what we'd paid for, or else a substantial discount. The staff were receptive to this argument, and helpful, and told us we'd need to wait a little while for some better rooms to become available, which we did. The new rooms were an upgrade on the corner rooms, so in the end the problem was resolved to our complete satisfaction.

The swimming pool was tiny, so we didn't use it, but the poolside bar was nice, and the staff were helpful. When they ran out of the San Mig Super Dry (my favourite Philippine beer) the bar manager sent one of his crew out to get some more rather than disappointing us. The food in this bar area was pretty good as well, but expensive for the neighbourhood.

Buffet breakfast wasn't too bad - not particularly good food but a decent choice of dishes. Getting a refill of coffee was sometimes hard work.

Location was great - very close to the mall - and the visitors who came by had no problem parking beneath the hotel or getting the parking validated.

The room was okay, quite basic, and the wireless Internet was barely usable the signal was so weak. The bathroom felt cheap: I could feel the bathtub flexing under my feet as I showered. Bring your own soap. The stuff provided in the room was useless.

Overall, apart from the attempt at ripping us off over the room at check-in, I enjoyed this hotel and would certainly go back if I visited Cebu again.

Clean and comfortable, good breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet available for reasonable price, easy access to city sites including Ayala mall which is 5 minute walk away. Hotel bar is a bit pricey, and not very busy.

Nice rooms, very good buffet restaurant, staff very friendly and helpfull. The cafe in the hall serves a very good afternoon tea. My only complain is, there was no kiosk. Nice swimmingpool and gym. The hotel also have a contract with a limousine service. We used it several times and the drivers were allways helpfull.
