Nice and close to the airport, very helpful staff (and friendly) and comfortable rooms.

This is a small family run hotel in a residential estate close to the airport which is about 25 mins from town. Rooms were large and clean. Don't expect Novatel..its more like an English room, quite basic but comfortable. The room i had did not have hot water operating although the machine to make it was there, so a little disappointed with that. And the remote control on the tv did not work properly in the other. Pool is small...but the block its on is small too.

They have a comfortable little pub downstairs with reasonably priced drinks. Also the food is basic, but good quality.

The staff are excellent. We would stay there again just because its well priced and friendly. It would be nice to fix the hot water and remote...but overall well done guys. We enjoyed our low key stay and will be back.

This is really a gem in Davao and, really, anywhere in the world. It is one of those places you really can kick back and enjoy your trip. It is not luxury by any stretch of the imagination, but the attention to service and satisfying the guests is unmatched.

It is a small facility with just six rooms in a large compound within a subdivision on the outskirts of Davao City. The owner will pick you up and drop you off at the airport upon request free of charge in a large, comfortable SUV.

The rooms are oversized, clean and comfy. Most have a kitchen, although the owners gladly let us use the larger main house kitchen when we had dozens (literally) of friends and family over to cook out and enjoy the fresh treats that Davao offers like tuna and exotic fruits (i.e. durian, mangosteens, mangos, rambutan, bananas, marong). The kitchen staff also helped prepare anything else we needed for these big gatherings that lasted into the night.

The compound encircles a nice, small pool where you can play and relax. Great for kids!

The truly special part of the facility (apart from the staff) is the British style pub located in the basement of the building. It was outstanding. You can catch all types of sporting events from around the world. I watched the World Series in the morning and the EPL in the evening. They were well stocked with ice cold San Migs and imported treasures from England and Ireland.

The prices were great. The average room is around 1400/Net a night and can accomodate three or four easily. You can book directly by contacting the owners via phone or email.

If you want white table clothes and stylish swank surroundings, this might not be your style. If you do want and enjoy a relaxing, comfortable place without pretentions where all are welcome and invited to enjoy the basic pleasures of traveling, this is your place in Davao!

Stayed here with my girlfriend in a Studio Unit with kitchen for 20 nights from 10/6/08 - 10/25/08. Paid 1200php per night.
Room was very clean, staff was exceptional and most accomodating, cooked most of our own meals but did order off the menu a couple of times and the entrees were good.
Location was very quiet which I appreciated. Taxi fares were no more than 120php to most of the malls/downtown area.

Bert & Marnet, the owners of Drifters Davao Apartel and British Pub are kind and caring people that genially are concerned that your stay with them is comfortable and worry free. It was clear to me and my wife that the owners and staff at Drifters follow the golden rule; they treat you like they would want to be treated. The staff that helps them run the place follows their lead and it was service with a smile when ever we asked for anything at all. I would say that you can’t ask for better then that.
The rooms are clean and well thought out, along with very reasonably priced, the one that we chose didn’t have a kitchen but came with a good size Ice Box for cold drinks. I was really surprised it was so nice, large and comfortable costing just P 1,350 per night, the bed was large as well and had nice comfortable softness about it, unlike many that I have encountered that cost more and just had a foam slab that hurt my back.
The food that they offer was such a great unexpected surprise, the selection and quality, as well as the portion size, was all right in line with the noticeable golden rule mind set of the owners Bert & Marnet, to serve people a good selection of high quality food that they would want to eat if they were staying at Drifters as a guest.
In conclusion I am a frequent vacationer to Davao, so I have stayed at every nice hotel along with a few not so nice ones in Davao, and I wouldn’t stay at any another place in Davao again, unless there was no room at Drifters, for over all value, and general experience of our stay there it was 5 out of 5 stars across the board. I will be back to stay at Drifters no question about that.
