we stayed at the remington for two nights before christmas and i would want to make as fair a review for this not-so-well rated hotel. lets start at the check-in, be ready for canine dogs to do some inspection of your bags, check-in is a breeze and there were i thiink 6 elevators servicing the entire hotel which is a very good thing. parking is not for free, for hotel guests, it is at 100 flat rate per day. make sure you check your entrance time as a minute after that on your check-out date will bbe charged yet another day... which is what happened to me, checked out early but left the car in the parking so i ended up paying for 3 days instead of 2 because according to the curt attendannt, i went over half an hour.
the room: i am honestly scared prior to arrival because of the numerous review about the moisture issue in the rooms which may pose slipping hazards to guests. i really observed it and yes there will be no moisture if the arcon is maintained at 21celsius - btw, there is no way to control the temp even with their remote control. at this temp, the room is outrageously cold that even they supply blankets it still leaves you shivering. Then we discovered on the second day the solution to the problem, we completely turned off the aircon and just open it whenever we already need a cold whiff of air - and it did the trick. i pity the hotel as they seem to cannot rectify thier aircon problems, and it is a big hassle on the guests' part to be part of their issue.
the lobby at the ground floor is very big which is a cozy place to spend time outside the chilly room. there is also a common lounge area ith the vending machine for simple snacks which is helpful. cleanliness is highly maintained all over the hotel even on the rooms.
one great thing about this hotel is their 2 queen sized beds which are the biggest beds we've had so far in all my stays in other hotels. the room has no ref nor an electric kettle. the room size is ok but the shower stall is so small that i felt claustrophobic while taking my bath. the bidet somehow make up for the rest.
there is a mcdonalds and 7-11 in the same bldg so grabbing a quick breakfast or snacks is a breeze. plus the comfort and delight of the resorts world complex.
overall . i paid for their promo which i at PhP 2400 a night which is really value for money - which comes with 2 free movie passes and 2 gamezoo cards. i cannot really complain.
but if i am to pay for their regualr rates, i might think it over first whether i would still want to be back. i believe this hotel is really designed for layovers or for those needing a nearby place to stay before their flights but it is not meant for families looking to have a vacation.
we ended up transferring to the nearby marriot for another 2 more days as i know that hotel is what can give the pampering we need.
