“Great Staff but Tired Rooms..Sorry Dusit :(”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Great Staff but Tired Rooms..Sorry Dusit :(
LOCATION is great really near shopping areas.
I was seriously disappointed with what I paid for in Dusit during my 2nights stay.
5Star? so i am expecting a 5STAR quality hotel but that's Not what I've experienced.
Rooms are tired. Pool ares is spacious but really nothing special in it unlike other 5STAR hotel in Makati, Staff are really helpful and polite and I felt very pampered with all my requests but sad to say that really this is not what I am expecting before.
Room Service Hotel Food are really good and Chocolates but Seriously I am NOT convinced of the '5Star' title. Sorry

This hotel is so conveniently located to the shopping malls of Ayala and sm department store...the personnel are so friendly and very efficient. Concierge personnel are so helpful especially when we left boxes for cargo to be picked up. We did not encounter any problems with concierge.security is A-one...two persons were using their card to enter our room. Immediately we reported to front desk and immediately they checked CCTV at the hall and explained to us that the two guests just lost their way. The only inconvenience we experienced was when we got back to hotel twice to rest, the room was not yet made up that we have to wait at lobby . The best is always to inform front desk every time you leave the hotel for cleaning, aside from pressing clean up button.

Very dirty rooms and carpet is worse. Walked around with with socks and afterwards were BLACK due to dirt. Was in Manila for business trip. Had an issue on 25th May which was raised and then female afternoon duty manager started talking in tagalog to the other person and laughing. Very disrespectful.

Don't let the grand lobby fool you - this is NOT A 5 STAR hotel. Rooms are old, carpet is disgusting, the shower is gross (they have bath tubs with stains on side from being incredibly old). And the fact Trip Advisor awarded them an Excellence award is a huge insult to other hotels that deserve the award.

I will advise my colleagues from my work to not come here for business trips.

I stayed in 2 differnt rooms, 1 was an upgrade since my reserved room was not available at check in. The upgraded room was old, out dated and damp. After trasfering to a different room, it is still old, out dated but at least felt dry. The facility was terrible. The faucets are old, there are no more marking showing which way is the hot or cold water. Closet door don't close all the way, so the closet light stays on the whole time. furnitures are old, the whole room just looked run down.

While the lobby area is nice and service was sufficient, it does not make up for the horrible rooms. After all, I spend 99% of the time in my room, not in the lobby. I have stayed at nicer motel 6 rooms. If you plan to spend this much money on a hotel in Manila, don't spend it here. I'm sure there are other crappy rooms in Makiti for much less.

They need a total renovation, or everyone should stay away.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel

My husband and I stayed in the Dusit Thani for 2 nights. The staff are so lovely. The staff in the lobby bar were by far the most professional than in any other venues in the hotel. We also had something to eat here and it was delicious.
We were on the club floor which also gave us access to the club lounge. This lounge is probably the nicest club lounge I have ever been in (and we have been in many). The general manager also greeted guests in the lounge which we felt was an extremely nice touch.
We had a beautiful dinner on our second night in the Italian restaurant. The food was magnificent and the chef came out to speak to us.
The hotel transport is worth using. We used them from/to airport and my husband also used it for his business meetings and they were fantastic.

Room Tip: Book a club room, it is well worth the extra

i stayed at dusit thani on a business trip to Manila. The check counter looked like an airport immigration counter; sparcely manned and a que of 10 people. Took 20 mins to check in. I had asked for a room with a king size bed and was not given one. Poor counter staff engagement.
Rooms are average and breakfast is average. good thing about free wifi.
an average overall stay.

Stayed here for the third time on 27-29 May. Hotel staff was always ready to serve and help. The location is convenient if you enjoy shopping and dining at Glorietta and even Greenbelt if you do not mind the short 10 mins walk. The rooms are quite old already and seriously need major overhaul for such classy hotel. Tried the spa on several occasions and enjoyed the treatments.
