“Tasteful taste of HEAVEN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

If you live anywhere from China to New York (I'm from Pennsylvania/New Jersey, USA), you need to be dropping everything and booking your flight to experience this little gem in the Philippines. Tucked into a corher of the Makati area of Manila, owned and lovingly overseen by Chiqui, a woman of grace and charm and warmth, you'll find some of the most creative and artfully-arranged vegetarian food on the planet. The spanakopita is among the best I've tasted (and I consider myself a spanakopita-snob), and other dishes are equally well done and beautifully-plated. As a bed-and-breakfast owner with an obsession for squeaky-clean, I unconsciously obsess about hygiene. The place is beautiful and clean, from under the tables to inside the "comfort room." Go there! You'll be glad you did.

“My favourite Manila restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

I love this café. As almost all the other reviewers have mentioned, the cafe is charming and cosy and very different from most other restaurants in town. It is a friendly place and the owner and her staff really like to make customers feel at home. Everyone I have taken to the Corner Tree Cafe really likes the interesting menu and three of the dishes mentioned by the previous reviewer—the starter plate, the lasagna, and the burger—are fantastic in my view. However good you are, you can’t please everyone I guess.

“Bad and Tasteless food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

If you are looking for a good vegetarian food don’t go there. For some reason they think that when you cook vegetarian food you don’t need to use spices. I went to that place 3 times, since I really wanted to give them a change, and every time I left disappointed. In the “Corner Tree Starter Plate” they have the worst Hummus I ever tasted. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Fried Onions is tasteless. Their Spinach & Mushroom Lasagna is dry, especially the lasagna macaroni itself. The Baked Tofu Walnut Burger is one of the worst vegetarian burgers I have ever tasted. Even their vegan Chocolate Cake, which supposed to be very easy to make is not that good and sweet. I will say that the place looks nice, romantic, the stuff are friendly, on the other hand if you need to go to the toilet I suggest Starbucks across the street. I will not go there again.

“Best healthy vegetarian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Their meat loaf, arroz cabana, burger are some of the delicious must-try dishes. It's healthy and vegetarian, no meat but it tastes like meat. The ambience is homey and cute though a bit small serving up to around 20 people maximum. It might be a good idea to reserve ahead so as not to wait long. Service is good. Parking is limited. All in all, this is one of our favorite healthy places to eat. Dessert is also delicious and guilt-free.
