Your staff at the hotel was wonderful and exceeded my expectations that week! I thought that you would have been short staffed because of Holy week but you had good level of staffing and the stay was relaxing. The lobby reception had full engagement when I walked in the door and the reception, front desk did a great job. I wish I would have written down individual names but I didn’t. I just wanted to say thanks to your staff from reception, to breakfast (by the pool) to laundry did a fantastic job. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff always had a wonderful smile.

I will always recommend the property to any friend going there, nice place to be and the standard worth the room rates, very friendly staff and the location is awesome in a bubbling area of Makati, the management should keep the standard up, can't wait to go back there soonest

1) Value: Overall my experience was good. I am not overly scrutinizing, but I will give my unbiased opinion. 2) Location: Pretty good, would have been nice to be closer to Greenbelt Ayala triangle etc., but this is a fine spot which a market, ATM, restaurants in Century mall etc. you could walk to Ayala triangle like we did. 3) The room surface was clean thanks to the hard working wonderful staff who clean the rooms. The room could be even cleaner, but I'm thinking the staff do the best they can time wise with what "MANAGEMENT" allows. 4) The room was Just OK,not horrible, but not great. the Entrance, elevator, hallway and Door to the room lead you to believe the room would be nicer than it was for the cost of the room. The bed was acceptable. The bathroom faucet leaked at the base and the shower leaked onto the floor (typical), but the floor was tile and there was a drain. The room seemed like it could use a remodel, but was not bad. The good news is that the Air conditioner worked well which was wonderful and kept us cool as a clam, even though it leaked water all over the couch everyday and it was kind of noisy. Noise at 8am someone pounding nails next door for a few days? Doors slamming and horn honking, but its the city and a hotel. The windows to the outside were very dirty and Antel should hire a staff to wash them. I was happy to have a safe in the room. 5) Amenities: 2 free bottles if water everyday, plenty of towels thanks to room cleaning staff and notes to them. toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q tips, lotion, toilet paper, tissue, phone , alarm clock, refer, microwave, hot water/coffee pot, closet, couch, lighting. Did not use pool or gym. One BIG disappointment was with orbitz hotel booking they promised me a free airport shuttle to and from the hotel, but the front desk staff said it was 1000 peso when i inquired (this needs to be addressed and clarified) 6) Staff was good, nothing bad to say aside from the shuttle service issue, the cleaning staff were the nicest people. Another mention is that there was a $3000 Peso deposit fee to be placed on the credit card which I was not aware of until arrival and check in (this should be clear to customer when purchasing hotel accommodations) 7) seven is typically my lucky number, which was also my room number on the eight floor, but in this case definitely not: The WIFI was WORTHLESS and UNACCEPTABLE I could not do Anything, no email, no viber message of even a simple "hi"; Nothing even though i appeared to have a full signal and the WiFi router was close to my room. I had the same experience at the NAIA airport. ANTEL needs to fix this issue, DO NOT advertise WiFi if it does not work. FYI i had an iPhone 5S. Thank god my Lady had a pocket WiFi. i I enjoyed Makati very much and plan to visit again some day. Good Eating at the Century Mall : Banana Leaf and the HOLE IN THE WALL, 71 Gramercy just to name a few I liked a lot !

Additional info:

Manila was Fun!

Went to Tagaytay Woke up and left at 6am took taxi to Coastal mall and bus to Tagaytay 2.5 hours ( Skyranch, Peoples park in the sky, Picnic grove) Rode a couple of Jeepney and a Trike up to Peoples park. Nice Views of Taal Volcano. Fun Fun!

Walked around Makati Ave, Ayala Triangle, Burgos st, Century Mall, A Venue, Pasig River bridge. Seemed pretty safe.

Went to Gramercy "71" , a must do ! nice view at night of makati and manila. Went to Mall of asia and rode the EYE walked the boardwalk area. Visited The Green Belt mals 1-5, Visited the Rockwell mall, visited Glorietta and Landmark malls. Took a taki tour of Fort Bonaficio, The American Philippino Military memorial, Ermita, Malate, China Town, Manila Bay, nice sight seeing! Old buildings.

I was careful not to drink the service water, Ice or anything washed in the local water to avoid getting sick. Drink Wilkins or Absolute distilled drinking water which is cheap at the market.
I believe I was exposed to the local water even being careful and i had no issues. Imodium capsules can be purchased at the market pharmacy for cheap for upset stomach etc.

It was 90 F deg each day , but some days there was cloud cover which made it not so hot. It was bearable, but i tried to stay out of the sun often as possible.

No problem catching a taxi, every blink of the eye another one is driving bye. Jeepnees everywhere and Tricycles for the adventurous. Many restaurants, many things to do. Manila is a great place and Makati was a good choice for a first time visitor.

Baclaran is a good place to shop for cheap stuff and souvenirs etc. blocks and blocks and blocks of shops vendors outside and in. Very busy place, keep your wallet and cell phone secure, but I had no issues. Rode on the LRT for cheap.

Traffic was not nearly as bad as i expected, being from Seattle.

I had a wonderful time!

Room Tip: Be aware of which Tower as there are three, Antel spa, Avenue and serenity towers.

Dear MacAtea,

Thank you for your review and it seemed you truly enjoyed your stay with us however there are some issues that will be addressed. As for Orbitz, it's a third party issue and we encourage you to send ths inquiry to their customer service with full details of the booking. As for the wi-fi, we do have the fastest available free wi-fi and I would like to check the room number as you stayed at Antel Spa. Nevertheless, the accessibility to various attractions are admissible. We continue to improve on our services and we do hope to satisfy you on the next stay with us.

A potentially good stay, ruined by just two issues. But let's start from the good things.

Bottled water is provided free every day. TV set is quite tiny for nowadays standards, but with a wide variety of channels. Hotel staff is generally friendly and helpful.

The hotel does not change currency, rather addressing the guest to a small nearby supermarket with a money changer. Too bad it is open just until eight in the evening, so if you need some pesos go there during the day (though business people tend to work in those hours).

The bedroom door doesn’t close properly, remaining ajar. Luckily an annoying buzzer after a few seconds warns you of the anomaly. So you don’t risk unwanted visits, in your presence or not. A smart thing, since it is neither the first nor the last that I happen to find a hotel room door that won’t close properly.

Something to improve: the desk next to the bed (which doubles as a nightstand, given the lack of space) is not business-friendly. Electrical sockets are uncomfortable to reach. Just two in the wall, well hidden by the desk frame. You must pull it back from the wall and unplug either the lamp or the alarm clock because both sockets are busy, if you need to power some of your business tools. It is a poorly designed concept. Now it would be good that the hotel provides a power strip there, so to allow guests to work at the desk.

Now let’s talk about the bad points.

Breakfast is totally inadequate: food variety and quantity of supply are well below par, for such hotel standard. Out of three days (with breakfast included in the rate) I had it only the first one, then – after such experience - I decided to give up.

The room is overlooking an open construction site, with roaring heavy machinery working night and day. And on Saturday morning - at seven o'clock! - there was an unidentified rally with someone shouting into a megaphone and crowds cheering and chanting slogans... Not really a quiet place to get some quality sleep.

It would have been a four point stay, but it was spoiled by the noisy environment and by a poor and unappealing breakfast. When the building site is gone and the breakfast becomes worth eating, this hotel may well deserve 4 points. Today they just earn 2, because they fail in providing what matters most to a hotel guest: a good sleep and a decent breakfast.

Dear Homing_Pigeon1,

Thank you for your detailed experience during your stay. The noise you described is truly isolated and the city doesn't allow rallies. As for the restaurant, I would like to know which one since we have two restaurants that guests could choose.

We are committed in improving our services and you could check that out on your next visit with us.

I liked the room setup with a small bedroom and a living room. Good internet and very helpful staff. Location is pretty good with plenty of places to eat around the area. If there is traffic expect about a 1 hour ride to the airport.

Dear Sean C,

Thank you for highlighting the best amenities and perks of staying with us. Our location is truly worth raving since we are accessible to various attractions and provides you convenience.

Traffic is expected since we are in the premier city of the country however it gets improved by summer where most schools are on vacation.

We stayed here for our 3day seminar. The staff are attentive no problem about it. The rooms though not that big is comfortable. The food though needs further improvement. Its not masama ang lasa but a food that you will not enjoy. Its lacking the linamnam or umami taste.

Okay Hotel mostley due the god location considering the dining and nightlife in Makati. Had a leak from the toilet cistern wich was promised fixed but not done anything with. WIFI in the room was a joke. Strange arrangement with deposit requirements to provent unsettled bill from the minibar.
