“not as great as their Hong Kong counter parts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

i have been to HK grappa's and i love their food, so when i was walking by greenbelt i was really excited to see Grappa's and went right in. well my excitement was short-lived. I was there with a friend and the food wasnt really that great at all. i ordered a Gnocchi and my friend chicken (rosemary chicken). While mine was almost saltless, the food other wise was ok. sadly the chicken wasnt that good. my friend had a hard time completing it. Grappa's please buck up.. i might try it again tho.. just bcoz grappa's HK was really nice. maybe the chef was having a bad day!

“A mixed bag of excellence and mediocrity”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

The appetizers - carpaccio, foie gras - are fabulous and I have always loved the gnocchi at Grappas - although smaller serves would be preferable - and the tiramisu is orgasmic. But the carbonara has a definite Filipino flavour, in that it appeared the chef had used a sweetened cream, and the arrabiata was a long cry from the traditional spicy sauce. Half our table would have graded this restaurant as very good to excellent, half as poor. A mixed bag, but as always, the buffet goes down well with the locals.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, and always eager to please. The atmosphere is good - for once, the tables are not crowded together. For beer lovers there is a good list, the wines a little less variety, mostly Italian, but I guess that's acceptable in an Italian restaurant! It is family friendly and equally good for a quiet tete-a-tete. The open kitchen makes interesting viewing if conversation flags.

I would definitely go again - but we are learning what NOT to order...

“Grappa's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2012

Though there are no official dress codes, formality is present in this restaurant—from the uniformed servers and darkly colored mantelpieces to the canned piano music. A bottle of wine adorns every table, and there is a well-stocked bar in the middle of the room.

“Interesting Variations on Italian Classics”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2011

Grappa's provides nicely prepared dishes with fresh ingredients, but may not be the best choice if you are looking for classic Italian dishes. The theme is Italian, but the interpretation is often very Filipino. On my most recent visit, this disconcerted my colleague, who expected a classic Italian marinara sauce--said it was very tasty, but not what he expected. I ordered a special because I had to see what it was like--a caneloni that was not at all what I had pictured from the description, but an excellent choice none the less. This is a good place to try something Italian inspired but a bit different.
