We stayed overnight in Auburn, NY in hopes to see one of the finger lakes and also visit the Willard Memorial Chapel (known for its Tiffany glasswork). Auburn is a lovely, small town with large homes/mansions in the historic district. Based upon all the beautiful quaint towns we had seen over 2 weeks driving vacation, this was another example of a lovely town. The drive to Moravia around Owasco Lake is very picturesque.
Disappointing was the Willard Memorial Chapel. A tour had just a few moments before we arrived started with about 25 people. We were led to the chapel and told to sit quietly in the back of the room and wait. The tour guide wasn't very interesting since she spoke about their services there and nothing about the Tiffany glass. The chapel is rather small and didn't hold much awe factor. I had expected the glasswork and decoration to be outstanding. One of the ladies in our group loves glasswork and especially Tiffany. However, in a short while we stood up unimpressed, took a few obligatory photos then left.
