“Great fried Bangus... but quite expensive for simple local dishes!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

I decided to try LZM and brought my clients after seeing few reviews about their fried bangus. The place is like a clean eatery, simple interiors with a cafeteria-like vibe. :)
We ordered their fried bangus, kare-kare, chicharon bulaklak, pinakbet, krispy pata, bulalo and tortang talong. I only enjoyed their bangus, pinakbet and chicharon. The bulalo lacks flavor, kare-kare was bland, and their crispy pata was too tough. It was not cheap as what other reviews claimed, it will costs you about $12/pax, imagine a fried bangus at $9? ... Definitely not carinderia prices.
I'd consider coming back but will just stick with their bangus and pinakbet which I notice is their only specialty.

“Great food, affordable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

Like: food --crispy pata , biggest boneless deign an angus ever... dislike: ambiance ...very much like the carinderia in a mid to high end Solana 2.

“Great Filipino Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

We purposely went to Tagaytay LZM from Sta Rosa just to have our dinner in LZM, the looks of it is just as typical local restaurant, with few table lining up without any fancy. We have our Boneless Bangus, which is big size not ordinary size, crispy outside and tender inside. Together with Sizzling Bangus Belly, Crispy Squid, all of them are our favorite each time we dine there. We did not order Bulalo cause they will provide you the Bulalo Soup. Price is affordable and consider cheap for a tourist place. Recomended.

“Great Food Great Price”

Down to earth place nothing fancy. Great food at a very reasonable price. Family style servings that none will walk away hungry.

“Good Option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We normally order the mutated bangus which is good enough for 3. We have also had the sinigang, lechon kawali, crispy pata and the tortang talong for the past 6-7 times. We wanted to try something different and had the stuffed squid and the sinampalukang manok. For me the squid was delicious but the soup had too much ginger and had only a few pcs of chicken meat :(

BUT, we will definitely give it another chance and go there again.

Btw, this is only adviseable if youre planning to eat and run. Not a very relaxing place to hang out. We normally eat here on our way to Batangas or way back to Manila.

For places with a view of the Taal Lake, there are many neighboring options to choose from.
