My wife and I were looking for some R&R last December 2007 and chanced upon the Pontefino Hotel on the internet. It advertised terrific food, great facilities and a very good massage for the weary traveler. After a long drive from Manila, we arrived at around 2 in the afternoon, and ordered lunch at the hotel. Not only was the menu very limited ( some items were not even available ), it took them a hour or more to serve us the food. When the food arrived, it was cold. The waiters and waitresses were inattentive, despite the fact that we were the only ones eating at that time. Another group of people, who arrived much later than we were served ahead of us.
After this unwelcome beginning, we had to order our dinner at five to make sure that we would be served food at seven pm. After dinner, a group of friends wanted to try their much advertised massage, but there was only one masseuse available.
When we finally went to our rooms to get some sleep, we found out that there was this pump that kept on running every two or three minutes and it gave out a very terrible noise that sounded like an aircraft engine about to break down. We could just stare at the ceiling in disbelief. We called the front desk and they said that our room was on the floor just below the pump that supplied water to the hotel and they could not shut it down. Sorry for the inconvenience. Do you believe that ??!!!
It was not all bad however, when we were about to check out the next day, the hotel staff gave us the right directions on how to get out of this place and proceed to our next destination.
