“A Grand Home Away From Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Le Monet is impressive - great rooms, very good food. My niece did not want to go sight-seeing anymore! But what makes it really outstanding is its staff. Nothing is too big nor too small for them, nothing is too trivial - everything is important and they go out of their way to accommodate guests, all these with a real smile, one that reaches the eyes and not the perfunctory stretching of the lips so common in other hotels. Truly, the management should be proud of its staff, from the booking (CJ really went out of her way on this one) to the reception staff to the bellhops and the people manning the front door. Le Monet is home away from home - just much more grand, of course!

Le Monet is truly a wonderful hotel. From the location (camp John hay), the room (love the junior suite!), and the staff (miss toni and cess), everything was awesome. We will surely be back...(soon!) :)

Room Tip: Get the junior suites... :)

That's what I learned from staying at Le Monet.

The hotel's exterior can't compete with that of Camp John Hay Baguio Manor Hotel and Baguio Country Club. It's simple. Plain. Boring. Ordinary.

But my jaw dropped when we entered the hotel. Everybody can tell that the hotel is new. The interior is simple, modern, sophisticated. First 2 items that caught my eye were the 2 crystal chandeliers hanging side by side above the lobby. The clear crystals were a perfect complement to the clean and crisp design of the hotel. Second thing that caught our attention - the staff. They were very courteous. The ladies and gentlemen at Le Monet are the perfect embodiment of the phrase we often see on job ads "people with pleasing personality".

Be forewarned that the elevators are really small. All 7 of us boarded the elevator, we did not exceed the weight limit but we had to hold our breath just to fit into the small space (exaggerating a bit but it's really small).

The room we got was also small. But that's because the beds were huuuge! The comfort room was spacious and, thank goodness, it was clean. They have auto-flushing toilet bowls, something that I rarely see in hotels (inside and) outside Metro Manila. I also loved the shower head. The room didn't have a bathtub. They have hot and cold shower but, again, this is a warning... The water suddenly turns cold. I don't know if it happens all the time. But it happened while I was in the shower and when my father was taking a bath. Tap water in Baguio is like iced water here in Manila. The water coming out from the faucet also tasted bitter and it smelled funny.

On to the quality of sleep... The bed was so soft and the comforter was so smooth and warm that I felt like i was sleeping in the clouds. Really! It deserves an award - Best-snooze-time-I've-ever-had-in-a-hotel award. It felt so good that I woke up in the middle of the night wondering where I was.

The breakfast at Le Monet was fantastic! Best breakfast buffet I've tried so far.

The hotel still has room for improvement, not with the design or the architecture, but with the personnel. They are nice, courteous, and very accommodating but I think they need more practice. I'm sure they'll get better in time.

This April 2012, I've decided to go to Baguio after 20 years of not visiting this lovely city. Staying at the new Le Monet Hotel was definitely the best choice I've made. Le Monet did not only suit my taste with its exquisite architecture, but it also catered to my needs. The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and well furnished. The view from our balcony was definitely relaxing. Even the bed was so fluffy and comfortable that my daughter became lazy and she didn't want to leave the hotel anymore. I highly recommend the delicious breakfast buffet, especially the Roka Solata salad. Plus, don't forget to try their eggs benedict and tocino. I, for one, will definitely go back to Le Monet if given the chance. Lastly, I would like to mention the GM Mr. Dante Cruz, whose warm greetings definitely made me feel at home. Two thumbs up! :)

Luxury hotels are just a handful in the summer capital of the Philippines. There are CJH Baguio Manor and Baguio Country Club to name a few. Le Monet is a welcome addition to the short list of luxury hotels in Baguio City.

It is located in Camp John Hay, a few blocks from the Manor Hotel. Though Le Monet is smaller compared to Manor, it is an excellent alternative to Manor. With excellent facilities, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, and great food, Le Monet is giving Manor Hotel some good competition.

However, service needs to be improved a lot specially with its front office and housekeeping staff. And the carpeting in the rooms should be cleaned more often. If there are at least 2 in a room, expect to pay extra for additional bath towels.

It lacks parking facilities but you can park your vehicle in front of the Filling Station which is just beside the hotel or at an open parking space across the hotel.

Wifi internet service is free of charge. And the internet speed is very good. Each room has two TV sets with at least 50 channels. You wont get bored while in the room.

Each room has 2 double-sized beds and 8 pillows! They were comfortable but the mattresses kind of sag when you sit or lay near the edge of the mattress.

Overall, Le Monet offers good value for your money.

Room Tip: Request for a forest view room. And if you can afford it, get the junior suite which is significant...

The hotel was such a welcoming sight after a long trip and after seeing how crowded the city has become. Camp John Hay remains clean and peaceful despite the added business establishments. The staff was very much accomodating, although obviously still learning the ropes as the place is relatively new. Our room had a lovely view of the pine trees and the garden at the back of the hotel. It was so easy to fall into restful sleep because of the comfy beddings. I noticed though that we only had one pair of slippers, one robe, and two bath towels in a suite that can accomodate 2-4 persons. Breakfast was filling and delicious, but I couldn't believe that coffee was the only complimentary hot drink. What about tea, or hot chocolate? A small activity center for kids would also be nice to keep them busy while the parents finish eating. My toddler nephew ended up crawling around the dining area to entertain himself. All in all, we probably will return when we get the chance to go to Baguio again. Hopefully by that time the heated pool will be available.

Dear Valued Guest:

Greetings from Baguio City and Le Monet Hotel!

Thank you for giving us the privilege of hosting you in your recent visit of Baguio City, and thank you for your much appreciated feedback. Reviews like yours make us more focused and determined in improving our products and services.

We are happy to know that you found our team members very accommodating. We are also glad that you found comfort in our rooms.

Indeed, the view of the pine trees and of our pocket gardens from the rooms' verandahs is a refreshing experience for our guests, and is "rejuvenating," as one guest mentioned before.

It is great to hear that you also found our breakfast filling and delicious. It is just sad to hear that you were not informed that we offer a variety of complimentary herbal tea to go with your breakfast.

Our sincere apologies for some inconveniences we have caused you. Rest assured, our team will make the necessary changes to ensure that a better product and service is delivered, specially in your next visit to Baguio.

Again, thank you very much for sharing your experience about Le Monet Hotel.

Sincerely yours,
