“Highest lake, best stay...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2008

World class stay. Wonderful combination of location, service, comfort and style. The minimalist external design is perfect for the bleakly beautiful setting. The interior is stunning but confiding, like visiting the home of a friend with fine taste and the wherewithal to express it. Seven of us travelled half way around the world to visit Titicaca, and we will certainly come again.

Titilaka was truely one of the best hotels I've ever been to (perhaps the best). The hotel is situated in a beautiful area, with views of the lake and farmland. The design of the hotel itself is simple and elegant. The food was great. And perhaps best of all, the staff is amazing. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.

There is plenty to do around the area. Or you can have a great time by simply doing nothing.

I thought Peru was going to be a once in a life time trip, but I'm going to have to go back just to stay here.

Titilaka offers the best of the best in Peru. The resort is located in the shores of lake of Ttiticaca, making it the perfect place for a relaxing and/or romantic retreat.

During our stay we had an excellent tour guide (Saul), who gave us informed and very interesting insights on the community surrounding the resort, including both its traditions and history. (While making a daily trip, we witnessed a traditional Ayamara wedding.) And Titilaka does an excellent job of incorporating the richness of this community into its exquisite architectural design, and the luxurious services it offers.

The hotel rooms are splendid. Ours offered an amazing view of Lake Titicaca. At night when drawing out the curtains we could see the moonlight reflected on the water, and on the horizon the mountains that make a natural border between Bolivia and Peru.

Titilaka's staff was always attentive. They are warm and always looking out for your comfort. The cuisine is excellent. We even had the chance of trying pancakes made with quinua - a cereal that is only available in this region of the country.

Hotel Titilaka was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Blending in perfectly with its surroundings, the hotel’s interior is an eclectic blend of contemporary design with objects and colors typical for the region. The huge glass windows flood the entire hotel with natural light and leave you feeling as though you are on the lake rather than its shores – whether you are enjoying the view from the big bathtub of your room or the gorgeous terrace.

The staff, most of them locals, go out of their way to satisfy your every wish and seem to enjoy catering to foreigners keen to explore their homeland. We had an exceptional guide who knows everything on the region, from hidden and unexplored Inca ruins to the regions contribution to the national GDP.

The food, mostly local produce, was delicious and varied, though I’m afraid I can’t recommend the Peruvian wine. The fact that it is a carbon-neutral hotel is just the tip of it all.

You'll be blessed to experience it.

we stayed at the inkaterra titilaka hotel only 3 weeks after it had opened...we loved the experience...the hotel is beautiful...right on the lake...the food was delicious, the manager and all hotel workers were really nice...it's a smaller hotel so you feel like you know everyone...they really went out of their way for us...we had a great guide..julio...he was really nice...the only thing i would say in a negative way was the way the bathrooms are situated...they are really open to the room...so, not too private...but, other than that we loved the room...inkaterra is the way to go in peru...we loved the other hotels also...
