“spacious and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

The location so close to the lake was perfect for us since we were heading out onto the water the next day, but it is far from downtown if you want to explore that. Modern hotel, large rooms with very comfortable beds. Lovely, huge buffet breakfast. Dinner was below average, however.

The hotel itself looks like an american Highschool (buildingvise), but the staff is very freindly, The food is absolutly OK, and they have Alapacs in the backyard.
Some distance from Puno city though, so use it for "sleep over" stays.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room to get good WIFI

stayed here at the end of a long stay in Peru and needed to do laundry - being so far outside town leaves you with just the hotel choice and thought they were a bit pricey. Staff was friendly and helpful and room comfortable, but lack of ventilation in room [like most of Peru] takes away from higher rating. City of Puno was a disappointment, so the isolation of the Eco Inn could be a welcome respite for some, but we would have preferred to be closer to the action. restaurant was fine and view of captive Alpacas on site pleasant.

We stayed at the Eco Inn 3 times, coming and going from Lake Titicaca and Bolivia. We thought the staff were friendly, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the food was great. We ate in the hotel for breakfasts and a few times for dinner. We loved watching the alpacas and sheep grazing while we ate our meals!

Excellent location right on the lake but not if you want to get into the centre. Lots of dogs running loose. We didn't bother to go into the centre as the view and the gardens were superb for a bit of relaxation during a tiring tour. Rooms are excellent size with huge beds (could sleep three comfortably) bathroom had the luxury of a full size bath. The alpacas at the rear of the hotel are a nice touch and the restaurant served the best food I had during my entire trip. If you aren't that hungry they are happy just to serve soup. Be aware of the altitude. The hotel offers free oxygen! Drink lots of water, very little alcohol and walk slowly.

A pleasant hotel a bit outside of the city. This didn't bother us since we were too tired to bother anyway. Rooms are of a good size with king size beds. Bathrooms are fine as well. At the back of the hotel there are some alpacas and guinea pigs which is nice to watch. The restaurant was quite good, we tried soup and pizza respectively one evening.
There is a train line running next to the road outside with a couple of trains a day. We heard one at 06 (it uses a whistle).

The hotel is very clean. Rooms are specious and have a great wardrobe - just ideal for travelers with backpack - you can really organize your stuff with ease. Food is good and the prices are midrange. The only one disadvantage is the localization (around 5 km from the city center - 2014 - 10 soles by taxi)

Room Tip: All rooms had view for the lake, so there is no need to suggest.
