“Beautiful Hotel, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This hotel overlooks the fabled lake of Titicaca, with a dining area that has ceiling to floor, wall to wall windows for looking out at the mystical lake, across a reed filled shallows, where local fisherman row out in the pink dawn light and tourists boats chug out later in the day to visit the floating islands and the people there. Inside the hotel, the food is elegant, and the rooms are gorgeous, and the whole place has a grand an optimistic, contemporary character. They also have oxygen in the rooms which you can take a "hit" of, in case you need help overnight with the high altitude. Last but not least, they are honest and conscientious. When I left behind a favorite jacket, and contacted them about it later, they went over and above the call of duty to bring it to some friends who stayed at the hotel a week after we had been there. That honesty, and extra effort on their part, gives them especially high marks from me.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Lake.

We stayed for two nights. The rooms were really small, we could hardly fit there with our luggages. The rooms are bit outdated but comfy bed, clean and nice view of lake and Puno. Nice breakfast buffet, the hotel feels bit isolated from the city but on the other side it has own pier and you can see alpakas feeding on grass. Room service was tasty, even though it took the some time to find someon who speaks english :) Restaurant food was nice as well, asparagus soup could be better though the pizza was really good.

Difficult to write a fair review of this hotel. Lake Titicaca is an amazing place and the hotel is on the edge (on its own island) with great views across reed beds. Views from our room and also the restaurant were superb, especially of the sunrise. The room was small (I think they all are) and the staff are a bit offhand/aloof/indifferent but not bad as such. It is extremely expensive to eat here - so we didn't, apart from breakfast which was really excellent with superb choice and a very high standard. On balance I think it just about merits a 4 (very good) rating - 3 (average)would be too harsh. However, it is quite a way out of Puno ( too far to walk really), the rooms are small and it is very expensive, but it has great views & high standards.

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the lake and as high as possible for the best views. Be sure to set your alarm fo...

This hotel was one of the more expensive ones we stayed in while traveling in Peru. It was not worth the extra money. The hotel room was not as clean as expected and smelled musty. The sheets did not look fresh to me. I always travel with a flat sheet from home just in case.

The wait staff in the restaurant were distracted and inattentive. We had to wander around until we found someone to help us order our dinner. Our meals were included in the price of our hotel and we suspected this may have been why the service was lacking. Our particular waiter was surly and impatient once he put phone down to finally wait on our table. Perhaps this is an isolated case of someone being in a bad mood. However, I would not return to this hotel.

We stayed here for three nights. Very comfortable rooms, beds, and the breakfast buffet was great (and included). There was a business center with computers for our use, which was very convenient. Because we were kind of isolated from the town, we ate at the hotel a lot. The food was good, and the prices were reasonable, too. Most memorable was the service - everyone was friendly and helpful! We loved the llamas that were kept on the hotel grounds - we were able to get close-up photos easily. The only negative was that the pool and spa were shut down for construction. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Room Tip: We had a view of the lake - the view was beautiful, and changed all day as the light changed. Some...

I travelled with a group and we arrived late in the evening. I sleep in a 'cave' with curtains closed. I woke after a wonderful sleep and opened the curtains and the view was awesome. See pic. Staff were very friendly, helpful and respectful. Breakfast was great and dinner was interesting, as there was a 'set' menu for a group. There was some difficulty choosing from the A, B or C menu's as I am a vegetarian, however it was sorted out and the dinners were lovely.
I needed oxygen on 1 day, so just behind reception there is a room with bed and big oxygen cylinder - all I needed was 15 minutes and I was fine. I did also take the 'Coca Sweet' and there is always hot Coca tea at the reception as well. There is also free WiFi and computers - a great help. A lovely stay, in an amazing location.

Room Tip: Lake view is recommended.

The location of the hotel, across the bay from the main part of Puno, is fantastic, with beautiful views at all times but especially at sunrise! The rooms are above average for the area but not outstanding, and--as some have mentioned--climate control is not good. Some in our group opened their windows for ventilation and cooling, but the hotel frowns strongly against this for some reason, I suppose safety. The restaurant, at least for groups, has set menus with no substitutions allowed; we had 3 or 4 choices of entrees, but the appetizers and deserts were "fixed" for the particular entrees. There is a very nice walking trail around the island on which the hotel stands, with some wildlife and continuously nice views.

Room Tip: Be SURE to get a room facing east, for the sunrise. We were told the sun came up around 5:30 am, bu...
