“No worth it.......even for 25 dollar”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2009

We spend there three nights at this hotel. The first night, no hot water. Breakfast is served only till 8 am (nice for your holidays). And last but not least, stuff were very unfriendly. In that context, I won't recommend this hostel.

I had an extremely clean, comfortable and newly (and tastefully) furnished room with carpeting (something rare in South America). The staff was very friendly and there is free WiFi in the lobby, though you have to ask the guy at the front desk to turn it on.

I could compare the rooms to what you would get at a mid level chain hotel like a Holiday Inn or a Hilton in the United States, if not better since at time of writing, everything looks brand new here.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2008

Our family (2 adults and 2 children) stayed here for two nights. The place is very new and the rooms are furnished well with good quality sheets and blankets and nice furniture. The breakfast was good with more than your average south american breakfast offered (included cereal and ham and cheese).

The staff were generally helpful and we were particuarly happy as we booked our family into one room and they gave us two adjacent rooms for the same price.

The only small issues were that the WI-FI they claim they have wasn't working too well on the second floor (but there were other unsecure sites that we used instead!), the water was only warm on the second day for a shower and the curtain are very thin so you get woken up at 5:45am.

  • Liked — central location, new hotel
  • Disliked — thin curtain (woken up early)

We booked this hostal after reading the review on tripadvisor and have to say it did not disappoint. the hostal was clean and comfortable, the guys at reception were very friendly and helpful, they even kept our bags in storage for us twice whilst we went on various trips. There was plenty of hot water too, and real hot water, not like other hotels in Peru that say they have hot water but actually provide lukewarm water at best.

Its also round the corner from the main pedestrian street , calle Lima I believe. I would definitely recommend this hostal to anyone staying in Puno. The price was something like US 45 from memory.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2008

I booked this hostal through Edgar Adventures. I found this hostal more like a hotel as it was extremely clean, warm, and inviting. The free internet access was fast and reliable. In addition, my room was clean, comfortable, and quiet and included a tv and ample shelving. The bathroom was very clean as well and had hot water in the shower. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and included ham, cheese, bread, butter and jam, fresh juice, and a selection of hot beverages. I am a single, female traveler and felt very safe here. The staff was also professional, friendly, and helpful.
