“Fantastic location sporting fantastic views”

A friend and I traveled to Taboga island for the weekend and were very happy with our choice to venture outside of the city. This house has everything one could need, is well-kept and cozy, and is only 2 minutes from the beaches. The owners, Jeannette and Thijs, were more than accommodating and made it a pleasure to stay there. They even transported us to and from the ferry so that we did not need to carry all of our bags and supplies. We very much enjoyed the fast internet and satelite TV which helped us to stay connected when we needed to. Both of us are already making plans to return here again next year.

“Taboga Island's Tres Terrazas - a wonderful experience”

The stay at Tres Terrazas was fabulous. Conveniently located, comfortable and with all the requirements to spend a few days in Taboga Island. The apartment was impeccably clean and the attention to detail is admirable. I was amazed with the speed and reliability of the internet connection. I got a lot of work done in between our forays into the jungle and sea.

We brought our fresh food from Panama City and the fridge was ready and even had ice in the freezer waiting for us. The BBQ worked perfectly.

Cristina, our 10 year old, had a wonderful time exploring the island and El Morro, photographing the Dendrobates poison dart frogs, eating "duros" and venturing into town on her own (the type of freedoms kids from the city these days don't get).

Taboga Island is seldom visited by travelers even though it's only one hour away from Panama City. For those wishing to spend a few days by the beach with access to rainforest trails and a beautiful friendly town you have to consider Taboga and the place to stay is Tres Terrazas.

We will be back!

Children love it here! Swimming, beach combing, hiking and, like Cristina, enjoying all the wildlife our little island has to offer. Parents can have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe environment while exploring on their own.

“Tres Terrazas Is Taboga’s Best Place To Stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Tres Terrazas on Taboga Island is an ideal place to call home while visiting this lovely, unique island. Ideally located, the home is only a 2 minute walk down the hill to the beaches & town.

The Hosts, Jeannette and Thijs, will answer all your questions and provide solid advise on dining locations, purchasing food and things to see & do on Taboga Island and also back on the mainland.

The house has everything you need for a very relaxing & pleasant stay. A Full Kitchen including microwave oven & coffee maker make preparing breakfast, lunch and/or dinner a breeze. A Color TV & Wi-Fi will keep you in touch with the world, if you wish. A good supply of books and magazines will keep you in reading material.

Or you can just relax on the large lanai that is complete with a big lazy hammock. The lanai has Beautiful Panoramic Views of the other nearby uninhabited islands & Panama City, all while watching the silent, never ending ballet of the world’s ships coming and going to the Panama Canal.

The tiny island of about 5 Sq. Miles and 900 residents has only utility vehicles, no traffic to speak of. While you can always see Panama City across the water, on the horizon, Isla Taboga it is truly a world away.

The two of us spent a Perfect 5 Days on the island before heading back to Panama City. We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Jeannette met our arriving ferry, arranged our luggage delivery to the house, brought us up to Tres Terrazas and gave us the grand tour of the house. She also got us back to the ferry when it was time to leave and arranged everything for a very smooth departure.

Everything went Very Perfect our Entire Visit !!!

We would certainly visit this fantastic little island again and of course,
stay at Tres Terrazas.

We highly recommend this location to accent your Panama vacation trip.

It is our pleasure to assist our guests with whatever they may need during their stay. Whether it is recommending a good hotel in Panama City to providing a trusted taxi driver for drives in town. We live next door to Tres Terrazas so are only a "hello" away!

“A great place to stay when you visit Taboga Island!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at Tres Terrazas with Jeannette and Thijs (pronounced Tise :) Each time was quite enjoyable. The first time was over a year ago when my bf and I had visited the island. This time some friends were with me and it was more than enough room for us all. My friends btw, loved it there and were quite impressed with the accommodations!! It was their first visit to Panama. I've been to Taboga Island quite a few times and absolutely love it there. I've heard people say that there's nothing to do but quite honestly if you give it a chance the island reveals itself to you in ways that will make you keep coming back as I have done. It's quite enchanting and you definitely need a few days there to take it all in.
Tres Terrazas as a rental space is a very good value in that there is enough room for small groups or couples travelling with children. They have the main bedroom as well as the front room that can be converted as needed. Also, what's nice is you can prepare meals either in the kitchen or BBQ on the terrace. For long stays this is ideal. Just do your shopping in PC before your arrival since there's only a couple stores on the island which carry the very basics.
What else can I say? Jeannette and Thijs are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make you feel really special. They are so warm and pleasant but not overbearing as some people can be who I've stayed with before. They have a ton of information about the island and can point you in the right direction about things to do while there. The apt itself is clean and comfortable and the view from the balcony is quite a site. My favorite time is sunrise while I watch the sky change colors from across the water and see the 1st birds and fisherman start their day. Nothing compares..... (Ahhh to be back again!!)

There are other places to stay on the island and would only recommend Cerrito Tropical which is a B&B and very nice in it's own right. But if I had to choose I would pick Tres Terrazas bc of the more homey feel and flexibility it can provide for different types of travelers. I prefer the autonomy an apt or casita provides and it's all yours. No other guests to break the zen if you know what I mean. It actually works out to be more affordable too if you're a small group compared to renting multiple rooms at other places. The prices are very reasonable overall. I highly recommend Tres Terrazas and would stay there again & again & again!! Lol!! I think you'll feel the same way too.... Happy travels!! :))

“nice appartment - horrible island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2014 for a stay in September 2014
Google Translation

We are so glad you enjoyed Tres Terrazas and found it to be both spacious and well equipped. Panama and Taboga Island are trying hard to become ecologically sound. Latin America is striving to make improvements as it matures. With major storms, like the one that just occurred, there can be plastics which come over with the tide. However, normally the waters surrounding Taboga are perfectly clean and great for swimming, snorkeling and taking a cruise around the island.
