If you visit the Royal DeCameron Resort in Panama, I do not recommend any of the day tours. The reason is that the Pan American Highway that you must travel to any attractions or activities is notoriously ill reparied and dangerous. The people of Panama have been protesting the unsafe conditions of the highway particularly in the area around Chorrera. However, to get from the airport to the resort you will have to travel this part of the highway. It has an outrageously high accident rate (23 fatal accidents in 2 years, just in the short stretch of highway near the town of Chorrera, many were multiple fatality accidents). After visiting Panama and having travelled this highway and then doing further research, I am convinced that it is not safe to take day tours or travel on the Pan American highway. If you must go to Panama...don't leave the resort.
