“Old world charm with great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

Quite tranquil setting at the end of the road with great service. A little pricey but worth the extra to splurge at the end of a trip. 5 star dining, and service. Book early during the peak season.

My family and I recently spent two nights in the lovely town of Boquete. When we arrived at the Panamonte Inn, we were taken back in time in this lovely and beautifully kept Inn with amazing gardens. Our rooms were ready and the front desk was kind enough to set up a private tour at a coffee farm that afternoon. Our guide picked us up and took us up the mountain, showing us the views and farm. We then were able to roast coffee beans and taste the coffee. It was great. We ate breakfast each day at the restaurant but my kids preferred to have theirs delivered to their rooms - everyone was happy. The food was delicious. We also had lunch there one day as well as a terrific dinner. The signature Lemon Pie was yummy. Our rooms were huge, comfortable, clean and the porches were lovely. We were able to walk into town in a few short minutes from the Inn. The area was so peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. I would happily return to The Panamonte.

Room Tip: The Garden Junior Suites and Garden Honeymoon Suite are truly beautiful and spacious.

This hotel was built in the early 1900 and is still in operation. It's charm takes you back in time. The service is impeccable, food excellent and the gardens are divine. The town is an easy walk. The staff is very loyal and offer you a feeling of being a VIP. They have various room options. Our room is in the newer section and very large. Free Internet, excellent satellite tv and great water pressure in the hot shower.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the bar

Wonderful place to go and relax. The welcome was just what we needed after a long day of traveling. The bar's decor is amazing, the restaurant was unbelivable and we loved our room. My girlfriend loves flowers so she was in heaven with fresh flowers in the rooms and a huge varied garden to stroll through. We planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 3 since we were so happy. The setting in the mountains, the wonderful smell of coffee and flowers in the mourning made it unforgetable. Well worth the price considering the attention to detail.

Room Tip: The junior suites have a nice little sitting area outside your room to enjoy an evening drink or cof...

The hotel and gardens are beautiful, and the staff is wonderful. Jorge is excellent, and there is nothing like drinking a few Saltos in front of the fireplace. Worth it to stay or just come for dinner and a drink.

On a business trip to panama, I was pleased to find myself in a very european looking village named Boquete. This little village is up in the mountains not very far from David Panama, which has a fine airport. Checking into the hotel for the night, I was astounded at the quality of the rooms, and the beauty of the place. There are flowers everywhere, and at night, as the cool and I might say gentle breezes blow through the village. You can hear the river roaring through the village when you stand outside of your room. If you are intelligent enough to be a fly fisherman, you can walk to a trout stream, and if you are impressed with the beauty of Gods great work in this area, you can even walk about 5 minutes to mass in the village church.
If you like the tetons in wyoming, or the pass into zurich from Milan, you will love walking around Boquete and staying at this great hotel.
You will find that this place as a village has a feeling that is very european, and that this hotel is part of that in a perfect way. As a Dutch American, raised in a very european home with hundreds of Dutch and German relatives in west michigan, staying at a hotel run by europeans for generations, one can only say that this place feels like home. In my 45 years of business travel, I have stayed at some awesome hotels. To have such a small hotel with such great service, restaurants and ambience, in a small mountain town is quite astounding.
One more thing. There are many coffee growers all small in the area , and having gone though law school in Detroit, being able to walk around smelling coffee roasting early of a morning is a delightful extra.
