“Extremely nice management, nice beach, but too far from everything”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2011

I stayed at Beach Villas for 8 nights. Mr and Mrs Kumar are wonderful hosts and will anything to help you have the best stay possible. They can arrange anything you need for your stay, including car rental and trips to the desert. There is not enough to do in Salalah for 8 days, 4 days at the most is enough to see everything, unless you are content to just relax and read on the beach or on the terrace.

The place does have a nice location, if all you want is a beach. The view is fantastic, particularly if you have a terrace, on the top floor, not a balcony. It is a really nice, quiet beach, where you can walk for miles, and can see herons by the water. The weather was perfect, nothing but sunshine.

The Crown Plaza is a short walk away, and you can go there for drinks, meals, massage or pedicure. Other than that, you will need a car or taxi for anything else you do. I paid 20 OR a day, or approximately 60 Cnd dollars. A taxi to go to the souq is usually around 4 OR to go (12Cnd) - you can bargain down if you are good at it. Coming back it usually cheaper and i did it for as low as 1 OR.

The area around the property is not nice, lots of half-demolished, abandoned houses, empty lots with garbage and debris, garbage bins and lots of stray cats. Also, they are building a new building in the lot adjacent to the property, so there is the occasional construction noise. Furniture is a little tired.

Breakfast is basic: bread, butter, processed cheese, jams. Instant coffee, tea, and orange juice. Bananas. You can request an omelet or fried eggs.

Sometimes they offer dinner, which is absolutely delicious.

If you do stay, make sure you ask for what you need, management is really helpful!

I would recommend this place to a friend, with a warning about the location and the construction noise, many or most people would not be bothered by these..

I arrived there on 31st of December at night time. Got an unexpected great plate of delicious food. At 12:00 the y served chocolate cake and champagne to celebrate New Year. The daughter of the Indian couple who runs this lovely place showed a Bollywood dance....
I just got the last room for a discount as I was a single traveler and the room was for three people. You can book with them a desert tour for a good price and car rental is cheap there as well. The car will be waiting for you in the front of the hotel. They have wireless and you can ask for a laptop to check your emails. The beach in front of it is save to take a short sunbath in your bikini. If you want to spend more time on the beach the Crown plaza isn't far away. There are a few restaurant close by along the beach to the East.
Fantastic place to explore the south of Oman...

This hotel is right at the beautiful beach (we saw dolphins from our balcony) and also middle of the local beach life. Owners are very helpful. Breakfast is ok. Rooms are good. Pool is great. Only minus is that restaurants and shops are quite far away.

Very nice and helpful staff! Perfect location right on the beach. We stayed for 5 nights in november 2010. We also rented a car at a very good price at the beach villas.
Highly recomended!

We travelled as a family by car from the UAE. A little difficult to find on your own - so get the GPS co-ords or follow the map closely.
Was great to be there for the Khareef. Right on the beach - although sea was too wild to swim. Pool was excellent. High humidity meant that room was often damp - but keeping windows closed and air conditioner on helped.
Staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful.
We'd definitely stay here again if we're in Salalah.

If you like to fall asleep and wake to the crash of the waves on a white sandy beach this is the place to stay! Its on theopposite side of Salalah about a 10 or 15 minute drive. Even tho' I knew Salalah of old and had a good idea where we'd find the villas I struggled to find them as they are not well signed, but they are ideally situated on a quiet part of the beach.
The rooms are basic but adequate, breakfast sufficient but uninspiring, but Kumar and his wife friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the staff. We mainly ate at local restaurants (very less expensive than up in Muscat!) but we had one superb Indian meal cooked for us by Kumar's wife, which we ate at the side of the pool, listening to the crash of the ocean.
If you want to stay near the sea and are planning to be out and about during the day, and don't want to be in a luxuary hotel this is the place to stay.

We stayed for 3 days at the beach Villas and enjoyed every minute. We had a wonderful view to the Arabian Sea, good breakfast and really friendly staff. It`s well located - just 10 minutes away from the center by car and has parking right in front.

The owners are happy to give you ideas of where to eat a specific food or where to see a certain species of birds. Just ask!
