If you're an Adrenelin junky then this is a must but most definately not for he faint hearted! When planning our Namibian holiday & itenary, decided to book the Lagoon Chalets in Walvisbay so that we could go quad biking early the morning. Past experiences we discovered that the wind picks up later in the day so the earlier the better cause it not pleasant at all if you get dessert sand in your eyes & the heat hits your as well. Also if there are larger tour groups, you then have to wait longer. We were the first group to arrive shortly after 9am & booked our quad bike rides, there was only 8 out of 12 who decided to go quad biking for 30 mins which was the most reasonably priced @ N$180 per person in comparison to others like Dessert Xplorers and Dare devil adventures that charges N$220-250 per person for the same time span however if you looking for an adventure to boost your adrenalin then you should definitely go for longer tours 2hrs @ N$480 per person. Staff were very friendly and service was very efficient & effective. We ordered refreshments while waiting for the guides & assistants to prepare & check all quad bikes safety features. Tour Guides were very highly skilled & trained, they we very efficient when explaining the do's & don'ts when quad biking in the dunes and encouraged us to follow instructions at all times from both tour guides. This Time round I didnt quad bike as I have been before & Also decided to be the camera man instead. Feedback from our group was that thy had an awsum experience & that they were taken for a bit longer almost by 15 mins because we were tourist from SA, searching for little creatures like lizards, gigantic ants & insects which was so cool! When the rest of the crew returned from quad biking hasle & incident free, we wanted to do the Hydroball where you are pushed down the dunes in a big see thru ball with water but was so disappointed that they had advertised it @ N$100 per person per roll & that it didn't arrive yet. With that spanner in the works we went sand boarding instead @ N$230 (6 slides) not too shabby so we could split the cost but first to climb up the most highest dunes which was exhausting & dehydrating in that heat but what an exhilarating experience. When we got back we were allowed to use the swimming pool at the back which was refreshing after all the activity. Bought a few more refreshments and headed back to the Chalet to get a proper shower. Our group enjoyed everything & yes I will be back to do the Hydroball.
