“Interesting Hotel---Interesting Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

A very nice and comfortable hotel in a very "German) town in Namibia. The hotel staff was very helpful, but the wait staff in the Platform One Restaurant was rather slow. The hotel's location is excellent for exploring the town of Swakopmund.

The hotel is very nice, and the fact that it is the old Swakopmund station makes it a landmark in town. the rooms are spacious, but a bit dated. The bathroom was very small and very out dated. The shower in particularly was a nightmare. Staff was helpful but that's it! The restaurant is not fantastic, food is average and service average as well. It is a good place to stay, but do not expect too much.

I stayed here the past week end. Check in was a drag with the one receptionist on the phone speaking out loudly and trying to sell massages to me whilst still being on the phone instead of checking us in. The room was standard with all the amenities, The stairs to the room was a bit of a bother seeing that my wife is pregnant. There was a power outage at around 11 pm and there doesnt seem to be abck up generator so i was stuck outside my room for a bit . All in all our stay was average.

Room Tip: Choos a room that faces theswimming poll on the lower levels

We loved the hotel. The room was great. Breakfast every morning was stunning - good variety. Staff are friendly. Unfortunately our stay was spoil because the air conditioner in our room was broken and was not fixed even though we reported it. Our room was unbearably hot which spoilt our stay. The hotel does not have family rooms so we requested that the two rooms booked were next to each other, but when we checked in this was not the case and the staff were unable to fix this error.

We had our wedding here, and from the start, the service and communication has been great. Service excellent, food is amazing, and the room was comfortable. Thanks to everyone who made it possible! Wish we could have spent more time here

Rooms are ok, and the hotel ok. But not ok priced. This hotel is almost the same price as I have paid in resorts in Europe. I can assure you that Swakopmund is not on any level with a European resort. It's difficult to even find a place at eat here in low season. But back to the hotel... It's ok..but give the place a miss & have another night in Windhoek for the dame price

Any organization considering a potential venue for a major event ought to consider the Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Center, which served as the base for the 2013 Adventure Travel World Summit. Led by its creative and very positive leader, Janet Wilson Moore, the security staff, the hotel staff, the management staff, was just "on" throughout our entire stay and for the entire event. Our entire Adventure Travel Trade Association staff, our 700+ delegates and our partners throughout Namibia had almost entirely positive thing to say about the venue. By seeing to every detail and being so present throughout the entire event, they eased a lot of anxiety, and made it so our team did not have to sweat the little stuff. Creative use of tent venues gave more dimension to the hotel, the food was delivered in fine style and the operational side of things was top notch.
