“Great location”

Good seafood in an outstanding location. Make you reservations in advance, especially during busy periods and you may be lucky enough to get the window tables.

“Dining on the ocean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

From all my food experiences I had in Namibia this one was probably my favourite. Located on the very end of the old jetty, which is a famous “model” in photographs of this town. That was also how we stumbled onto this restaurant. Unfortunately it was fully booked the day we first saw it(make sure you book well in advance!)but we came back...twice! This is also where this restaurant gets its name from. The old jetty was renovated and then named after the date it was build. It is hard to say exactly why it is so great. There is a variety of elements that probably influenced me. The strange location, the minimalistic but modern interior in sharp contrast to its “old” exterior, the fantastic seafood and sushi on offer, friendly service or the absolutely divine chocolate volcano cake(that was one of the reasons we came back the second time) They’ve added glass windows in the floor to make it possible for you to see the waves underneath the jetty as you dine.

“Amazing view, hit or miss with the food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We came here for sundowners and dinner, and I don't think we could've picked a better spot to watch the sun set over the ocean. The Jetty overhangs over the water, making it look like you're on top of the ocean. The cocktails (mmm, Aperol and Campari) were great, as were the fresh oysters. The two soups we had were also stupendous. But our main dish, the seafood platter, was a disappointment. Most of the fish were overcooked and dry, and the mussels were just a bit gross. We ended up not finishing it (and that rarely ever happens). Still, we returned for more sundowners and oysters the next day

Another recommendation: make reservations. The place was packed for a Monday night!

“oysters!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

unmissable if you are in Swakopmund... we had dinner while staying in swakop for a couple of days during our trip through Namibia, incredible location at the end of the jetty, service and food are great. If you like oysters you'll be more than happy! make sure you book, and if my memory serves, be there before 9pm
