I must have eaten in The Tug about 15 -20 times between Feb 2012 and Dec 2012. The food was consistently excellent apart from once, when it was only average;and once when I received a dish I hadn't ordered. Seafood is their speciality with the calamari being superb, only bettered by "The Anchors" in Walvis Bay. The oysters were never quite up to the standard of the Jetty and annoyingly never properly seperated from the shell. The service was always excellent, sometimes overly so as I felt a little rushed. I took to ordering my main course after I had eaten my starter. Like most places, the wine list is limited but a bottle to suit most tastes. Some tables have excellent views over the ocean, but some are in the middle of the restaurant and some overlook the car park !. Booking is essentail, especially at week-ends. If they are full, try walking along the pier to the Jetty.
The inside bar is a bit claustophobic, better to take a fleecy and have a drink outside first.
There is an upstairs deck which is quite fun, especially if you are a large group.
Prices across the board are about 10% more expensine than the Jetty.
