A delightful small hotel just within the medina walls, making it a great location close to the souks, harbour and ramparts. We had a lovely large room (Madada room) with its own private terrace with a sea view, and a super bathroom with huge tub which my husband really enjoyed. A good breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace. Do make sure to have a meal at the restaurant downstairs Le Table, and also at one in the main street called Eliza I think. We had excellent meals at both of them. Wafaa and Pauline were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions on what to see and do. Highly recommended as a place to relax at the end of a holiay in Morocco.

Nice small hotel with perfect location just behind medina walls with fantastic terrace overlooking the ocean. Everything is up to the level from the very first step to the riad. First we were welcomed by Pouline and Wafaa and offered tea/coffee. After we left out things and got ready for the walk in Medina, Pouline made an informative presentation on the main sights/restaurants/things to do in Essaouira. Staff in general was very friendly and helpful all our stay long. Breakfasts were fresh ans tasty and we enjoyed them spending morning hours on the terrace. We decided to have a horse riding and it was ordered for us by Pouline at short notice. All we had to do is just be ready the next morning in time. We liked also interior of the hotel - even small details are considered: pictures on the walls, delicate arome in the rooms. Although we took a standard room (Sabra) it was spacious and comfortable. Windows of the room faced the passway in the Medina, but we didn't hear any noise from outside. Worth to say that there are plenty of thing to do in the hotel (if you're tired of walking outside and want to relax). In the hall you can find nice variety of books: novels, art books, guides and magazines. We also saw a chest full of board games for a company of friends. For us it was nice to meet Sultan, a huge cat - essential member of the hotel's family :)
I would recommend to take a cooking course in l'Atelier Madada and visit the restaurant Le Table - these will make the stay even better.
So I think that Madada Mogador is the perfect place to stay in Essaouira for those who are looking for romance, want to relax and spend enjoyable days!

Great location on the edge of the medina, with small balconies facing the sea. Very nice breakfast on the rooftop, with a sea view. Very friendly service. Helped to make Essaouira the highlight of our nine days in Morocco.

With every magic carpet ride there is often at the end of your journey a wonderful discovery and experience.... Ours began with being greeted by Wafaa who immediately made us so welcome and her enthusiasm was contagious as we were shown our room with its private terrace and bathroom that was quite amazing with its copper basins and a view. Roses were everywhere including in the room which added such a very special personal touch. Explore the souks and the restaurants walk around the ramparts where you will discover the past... Old signs showing what the buildings had once been. My only regret was not buying a tangine dish so we will just have to return.
Breakfast on the terrace was excellent and a touch romantic if it's romance you are looking for you will definitely find it at Madada Mogador.
