“worth the journey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

we spent a week in marrakech and one day in essaouira but wish it had been longer ...... what a lovely place ! The souk so much more relaxed not a lot of hassle easy to navigate and friendly people, the haggling was fun! beautiful throw a really good deal.we ate lunch at one of the stalls selling and cooking the fish and it was fabulous , we picked a seabass which was huge perfectly cooked and served with bread, water salad ,chips and choice of drink for £40 seems a lot but we were stuffed and you would be unlikely to get a fish like this anywhere else.relaxing little cafes and lovely weather. next time will just book essaouira for a few days for a relaxing break.

“10 Dhs of Beauty and Amazing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

I noticed people on top of the rampart walls then realized there was an entrance to the right of the main walkway.Ipaid the 10 Dhs and began walking around, taking picuters then climbed the steps inside the rampart all the way to the top. The views were breathtaking and photos of the arch and circle with thenew city behind fun.

“I dreamed to visit them!”

Essaouira, former called Mogador, is one of the most known Maroccan city and its walls are very impressive. You must climb on the ramparts to see an amazing sea and city landscape.

“Quite pretty, and pretty well kept”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

The ramparts are pretty cool, and create great views over the brilliant crashing waves, and the ramparts themselves have some awesome cannons on them, and are nice for a little walk, and get to look over the shops selling beautifully carved wooden sculptures from about, and so without any hassle from the venders.
