The food is a welcome break from hot tagines. Very fresh, tasty and great value for money. After going once we had to go back!

“A little oasis of freshness”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Ginger is a tiny little place run by a young Argentinian/Spanish couple. Their ethos is freshly prepared, mainly vegetarian food that varies from day to day. Hygiene standards are up to scratch, so there's no issue with dreaded food poisoning from lettuce leaves. As well as salads, there are delicious toasted sandwiches made with Moroccan flat breads and a wide range of juices and smoothies. With only a handful of tables, it fills up quickly at lunchtime. It also offers similarly wholesome breakfasts. Definitely one to go back to.

“Lovely fresh food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Fed up with tagine and loads of bread this cafe offered fine fresh light food and incredibly helpful staff. Only wish I had had time to experience the cooking school. Eve

“great place to chill out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Food was perfect: a welcome break from traditional Moroccain fare. Fantastic fresh sandwiches and delicious smoothies. Super friendly and patient staff (able to accommodate our 2 picky eaters (not a crumb left after). Free chilled filtered water - have discovered that nothing in Morocco is free! Wished we could have ordered everything on the menu as examining what everyone else had ordered. Great atmosphere - clean crisp decor with spanish vibe. Music relaxing and nice clean bathroom. Could have stayed there all afternoon too escape the sun/heat. Definitely a must for anyone visiting Essaouira.
