We ate here on our last day in Essaouira having eaten at most of the top Trip Advisor rated restaurants - we were actually headed for another restaurant at the time but stumbled across this one and decided ...a bird in the hand....
We arrived about 7pm and were the first customers for the evening - by 8:30 it was pretty full and many of the diners had reserved tables - if you are planning to arrive later on I recommend that you book.
The menu was a good mix of French and Moroccan dishes. In the end we shared a Moroccan salad and both had the beef fillet which was cooked per our request and very good. The salad and main course accompaniments were perfectly executed - just nicely seasoned and very well presented. We tried both the red and white wine by the glass - both very nice local wines.
The waitress was very nice and managed our "franglais" and the owner came over during the meal to check everything was OK. The bill was very reasonable - well below the top rated restaurants. We both ate well and including 3 glasses of wine the bill was just over 400dh.
This place gets top marks - hard to see why it wouldn't get to the top of the heap in Essaouira. Enjoy it while it is still on the way up!
