“The best start to the New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

We stayed in the beautiful Riad Sila for 9 nights after christmas and over new year. We have two girls 4 and 2, and it was easily the best family holiday we have had. We were so well looked after by Mohammed and his team and had the perfect balance of having our own space in our villa but will hotel service on the door step. We ate in every night as the food was so good! It really is the most beautiful unspoilt place and we definitely hope to return.

After the madness of Marrakech to arrive at Rebaldi was a real tonic. We found the staff helpful, the location unspoilt and the onsite chef a real treat. We intend to return in November.Being able to ride across the beach was a real thrill for my 9 year old daughter and for my fourteen year old son the quad bike across the Dunes was something he had never done beforeI love the Spa treatments and loved being exfoliated within an inch of my life and having several large ,hot buckets thrown over me after being thoroughly cleansed.

We spent Christmas 2012 at the Ribali Riads and had a wonderful time.

The staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly and assist with all aspects of making your visit special. They organised quad bike adventures in the coastal dunes, restaurants in nearby Essaouira, taxi's, dinners, spa treatments and all with a happy smile.

They really made our christmas special and the food prepared by the in house chef is yummy.

The rooms are clean and spacious with comfy beds and nice furnishings in the communal spaces. They also operate an honesty bar system at very reasonable rates.

We would go back again.

Three showers, three toilets and a semi-private swimming pool for a family of four! We could even play hide-and-seek with our five year old in the large, lovely villa grander than the home of many. Breakfast on the terrace was both tasty and substantial. The staff arranged a lunch with a non-English, non-French speaking family in a nearby village. Our children had a wonderful time playing with theirs. Upon enquiring where we could find the chameleons 'advertised' as using the Riad gardens as a residence, one employee searched until he found two, to the delight of us all. Our fridge did not close completely; within ten minutes we were given a new one. Very impressive! Camel rides, donkey rides and much else starting at the Riad are arranged at less than thirty minutes notice. We loved our stay at Riad Rebali.

Many thanks for the kinds comments and we are all glad you had a good time at Rebali. I am particularly pleased you enjoyed the lunch in the local village. In these days of commercialised tourism it is very difficult to get a genuine insight into day-to-day Moroccan life and I would strongly encourage anyone planning to visit Rebali to take this up. It is Berber hospitality at its best and part of the cost goes to our Moroccan schools project!

This was my third trip to Rebali and the journey there from Marrakech is greatly improved - it actually has a road the whole way there now (cutting at least 30 mins off transfer). The staff are great, friendly and helpful and happy to help with any enquiry, book treatments, horse rides, trips into town, trips out of town(!) and to make recommendations on their personal experience. The food is delicious with lovely fresh local ingredients and excellent variety every day...A new addition on my last trip was the roof-top seating areas, sheltered from the wind and perfect for that well earned drink while waiting for supper, watching the sun sinking into the sea or just an opportunity for a bit of peace and quite with a good book. My favourite is the hamman, where I was massaged into a state of total relaxation and just managed to stagger back to collapse by the pool with a cool drink!
We tried out the tennis court - it was a little challenging when the wind is up, but if you pick the right time of day you can have a good game (and raquets are provided - saving packing space for all those purchases I always seem to need to make in the souk at Essaouria). I have been riding on the horses in Sidi Kaouki (quite spirited) and at Equivision (15 mins drive and probably better for less experienced riders) where Jawad has some lovely Arab/Berber horses (in every colour!) and he took us on rides along the beach and in the dunes, and in-land where you can seen countryside you wouldn't normally be able to get to. (For anyone who doesn't like horses but wants to explore the beach and dunes there are quad bikes in Essaouria which we hired as a family and that was brilliant fun.)
I have stayed in a different riyad on each trip, and every one is lovely - light, spacious, simply decorated and with bedrooms colour-themed in local fabrics, locally made lamps and throws etc. I want to take them all home, but know they just won't look the same! The beds, thankfully, are big and comfortable and the bathrooms well equipped with lots of towels and robes for lounging around in. There is plently to do if you want to keep busy, or you can do nothing at all in serious comfort. I have been with the family, I have been with friends - it is always a lovely place to stay and definitely calls you back. :)

Riad Rebali is an amazing find. A stone's through from Essaouira, and a complete oasis of calm. We spent two nights there and loved every minute of it.

Rebali is a beautiful collection of Riads a couple of minutes' walk from the sea, in the village Sidi Kaouki. We arrived at night, and awoke the next morning to the wonderful sound of the sea and camels in the distance. The Riads are extremely comfortable - they are light and airy with lots of living space both indoors and out. Our bedroom was ensuite and contained a large and very comfortable bed.

The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us to make us feel at home.

We had dinner at the Riad on the first night, and ate in a local village restaurant on the second night. Both meals were excellent. At the Riad, we had a wonderful morrocan salad, followed by fresh local fish and topped off with a fantastic fruit said. The food was delicious!

Rebali is a great place to simply relax, or if you are up for a little activity, they offer walks, surfing, horse riding. Our trip was not long enough for us to take advantage of these activities, but hope to return and try a few.

I would recommend bringing a torch as the village can be very dark at night which can make navigation to local restaurants a little challenging.

Room Tip: Ask for a bedroom with a sea view.

Hi, Many thanks for your feedback and we are so glad you enjoyed your short stay. You suggestion about the torches is a good one and we are getting a stock of them to lend to guests for the duration of their stay. The other option we have considered is to try and get more street lighting in the village, but that might spoil the atmosphere and the views of the stars or the moon over the ocean, so we will try the torches first.

This was our second stay at Rebali. The staff are so friendly and made sure we were happy. We love this place because it is so personal and friendly. The accommodation is very impressive - clean, bright and the biggest most comfortable bed.

The food is delicious - Kandusi the chef asked us every day what we wanted to eat and gave us wonderful suggestions. We are missing Mohammed, Fatima, Kandusi and ALL the staff who made us feel so welcome - we even got a cake baked for our afternoon tea each day.

We hope to visit again next near.
