“Wonderful Italian food, worth the wait!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

I visited Silvestro this past week during the Gnaoua festival in Essaouira. The restaurant was packed and there was a very long wait... but once we received the food, I was happy that we waited and I decided that I would definitely come back the next time I am in Essaouira. I shared a pizza with prosciutto which was very good and a welcome change from meats that you get in Morocco. I also had pasta with gorgonzola sauce (wanted the gnocchi but they were out) but the sauce itself was truly wonderful. I am living in Morocco and not having eaten Italian food in quite a while, I don't know if I would feel as strongly if I ate good Italian food more regularly, but either way it was a great meal and a welcome change from the traditional Moroccan fare.

“Brilliant food, great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

Suffering a little from tagine-overload, we found this homely Italian restaurant - it has a lovely atmosphere, the service is great and the food is really something special (and I have high standards for Italian food!). Plus the portion sizes are enormous. Go there.

“Real pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

If you need pizza instead of another Tajine, visit Silvestro. Its the best pizza in town and probably in the country.

“Very good pizza!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

Busy Italian restaurant which was unexpectedly authentic. A varied menu, all fresh cooked, and very yummy pizza's - better than many I have tasted in italian restaruants in the Uk and definitely better than any I have tasted in Morocco!
Food and ambience great, service was a little slow : not for food to arrive - that was very quick, but clearing our plates and getting us the bill seemed to take forever! - Go early before they get busy!
