I visited Silvestro this past week during the Gnaoua festival in Essaouira. The restaurant was packed and there was a very long wait... but once we received the food, I was happy that we waited and I decided that I would definitely come back the next time I am in Essaouira. I shared a pizza with prosciutto which was very good and a welcome change from meats that you get in Morocco. I also had pasta with gorgonzola sauce (wanted the gnocchi but they were out) but the sauce itself was truly wonderful. I am living in Morocco and not having eaten Italian food in quite a while, I don't know if I would feel as strongly if I ate good Italian food more regularly, but either way it was a great meal and a welcome change from the traditional Moroccan fare.
