A sumptuous nineteenth century house, a real 'Thousand And One Nights' setting, with stone pillars, cushioned banquettes and candlelight. 'Les Alizes' was atmospheric and romantic. Our guide book advised advance booking and indeed when we made our reservation the hostess indicated that there were two sittings and we could choose to eat either at 19.00 or 21.00. We chose the earlier slot and were the only people dining. We expected a rush at 21.00 but it never materialised - only one other couple appeared during the entire evening. This was not a problem, maybe it was just a quiet evening, but even with such a lack of guests service was slow and off hand. The food which was good and well presented and the ambience could not compensate for this lack of interest. We were never offered tea or coffee and more than half an hour after our dishes were collected I had to go in search of someone so we could pay the bill.
All in all this was a disappointing experience.
Set menu price approx. MAD 150 p.p. excluding drinks.
