“Well worth a second visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We stayed for two nights in Essaouira but didn't bother to look for somewhere else to eat on the second night as the food and ambiance here were excellent. We ate Moroccan food both nights from the two course menu and both main meals and desserts were delicious. The welcome was warm and she even remembered our drinks order from the previous evening. Worth visiting Essaouira just to eat here!

“Great vibe, food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Great vibe, food and service. Back here from South Africa for 2 months after a stay of 2 months in 2012. Brought many groups of people here and was enjoyed by all. Has a combination of Moroccan and French food. The Moroccan food has fantastic French flair and quality. Once here, you enjoy the food, music, service, hospitality and is a great experience. Will visit many times during my stay. Everyone loves Pauline’s chocolate dessert.

“Great food, even better music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

We were a group of 4 friends travelling to Morocco for the first time. We opted to go here on our last night in Essaouira as we'd read such good reviews. We arrived at half 8 without a reservation, but the hostess found us a spot at 9 so came back then (always book if you can as it's quite small and can fill up fast!)

On the Friday night we went, a live band was playing music throughout the night. Great music and at just the right level to enjoy properly, whilst still be able to eat and talk to your friends. The food was also very good. We sampled the pastillas, stuffed sardine tagine and lamb and fig tagine which were all excellent. There was also a lot of choice for desserts, with our table opting for the delicious chocolate and orange cream torte.

Only downside perhaps was the service was slow and often a tad forgetful. We had to ask for drinks and the bill twice. Not a problem as we had all evening for dinner, but something to note if you're just popping in for a quick bite. Overall really lovely though - would recommend!

“Great Value Menu with Music”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local music seller as being a good place to eat and listen to music. We are glad that we acted upon his recommendation and went to this restaurant. The food was very good - starter of ten mini-Moroccan salads and local soup, followed by a wonderful chicken tagine and grilled gambas. The presentation of the food was very appealing and it tasted as good as it looked. The young, friendly and attractive wait staff were very attentive and helpful. Our two fixed price meals included desserts and coffees. With a bottle of wine and sparklng water the bill came to about 50 Euros. There were two guys playing guitars and singing songs by Bob Dylan and REM. Another wonderful night in Essaouira!
