What a wonderful stay - this is the perfect location for a family holiday (or any holiday, for that matter!) We stayed there in late April, and the weather was gorgeous every day.
We had a ground floor room - ideal for kids - which was huge and was more than spacious even though we had a 2nd large double (for the children) in it. The bathroom too, was massive, and loads of cupboard space and storage. The rooms seem to be cleaned about 4 times a day - its incredible, every time you pop back to you room, its been sweeped again, or towels changed etc etc.
The beach was long and expansive with lovely warm ocean water, Tennis Courts were in excellent condition, so many activities - most of them free - such as glass bottom boat trips, kayakking, paddle-boarding, peddle-boats etc. We thought we'd have a very relaxing time, and we did, but it was definitely busy doing everything on offer!
The buffet breakfasts were really lovely (especially the pancake/french toast section!) and there was a huge selection for the evening buffet. Every evening is a different theme at the buffet which keeps it fresh and different, e.g. Chinese, Indian, Creole, International etc etc. The Creole evening especially was fantastic - dancing, shows etc
And the choices at the dessert buffet are mind-blowing!
We booked on a half-board basis, and this was absolutely perfect for our needs. If the kids fancied a snack at lunch, then we got filled baguettes from the pool-bar or the beach bar. These were excellent value, and really very good. Think we saved a fortune doing it this way!
My daughter was unfortunately ill during our holiday, and the hotel were fantastic - they called a doctor who was very efficient and knowledgeable, they organised for my daughter's meals to be sent to the rooms to her (and on a few evenings, the whole family's meals) at no extra charge. They daily enquired after her health, and we had the impression throughout that they cared a great deal.
The hotel booked us a baby-sitter one night, and this worked out very reasonably too.
The kids club is just fabulous. The carers speak a variety of languages and upon signing up all the children get a gift (a beach bag). They even have activities on some of the evenings eg a torchlit crab hunt along the beach, and on one day a week do an excusion to the Aquarium.
The sunsets just got better and better every night, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sun setting with a glass of icy cold wine on the beach every evening.
We booked as a family, and although there are lots of families with children there, there are also lots of honeymooners, weddings, etc. The hotel is massive and so can cater to all of these different needs so well.
Immediately after returning home, we emailed the hotel regarding booking again next year - it really is just THAT good!!
With children - choose a ground floor room. For honeymooners or those wanting the quiet, go for the...
