“Relaxing retreat with friendly helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

We booked this hotel for our wedding and honeymoon after seeing the photos of the hotel in the brochure and online and upon our arrival it lived up to our expectations. The general manager Raymond Deverg'e was charming and helpful kindly upgrading us to a deluxe sea view room on our wedding day, also a big thank you to Sharon our wedding coordinator for all her help throughout our stay. The staff were faultless, helpful and very friendly, food was lovely and well varied throughout our 14 day stay, rooms were clean and spacious with well kept garden areas. We had a fabulous time and wedding and can only say thank you to everyone involved, we cannot wait to return one day.

Room Tip: Try to book the sea view rooms.

I stayed at the Recif for 7 glorious days. And cannot wait to go back. From the minute I arrived I felt relaxed and welcome. The staff where always helpful and pleasant. The hotel is a3star and I think it should be 4. The position of The racif is to die for.For part of my stay I was alone but never felt lonely

Room Tip: A sea view is worth the extra

From the moment my fiancée and I arrived at the hotel until the moment we left, we couldn't have been more happy with the hotel staff, standard of accommodation and service.

While Recif Attitude is only rated as a 3 Star, I feel that the standard which the hotel provided deserves a higher rating.

My partner & i have just returned from Mauritius and had the pleasure of staying at the Recif Attitude for 7 days. What a place, all the staff made us very welcome and feel special. We had an automatic up-grade when we arrived to a sea view room, that was very nice. Room was clean and compact and had all you needed, the power points were french in the rooms so you will need an adapter if your from other parts of the world, but they can be obtained from reception for a small deposit. The food was very good for all meal times and restaurant overlooking the beach was a fantastic setting. Drinks from the bar were beautiful, especially the cocktails, bar staff were very accommodating when it came to making my partners Iced Coffee, with milk and ice cream and not water and ice. Entertainment at dinner time was very good & the Sega dancers on Saturday night were very entertaining and energetic, don't expect anything happening after 10.30pm when the bar closes, you will have to go to the night clubs in Grand Baie. Wi-fi available was limited to around the bar area, just another reason for another cocktail, but the connection was very slow. Shop on site was ok for stuff to buy, but when closed there are Goods sellers every night, ok if you have for got to get gifts or can't get to the other sellers in Grand Baie or Markets in Port Luis. Beach activities available everyday but Sundays, also the beach crew can arrange any other activity on the water you want. Beach itself was very course coral with some sandy spots, but still enjoyable. Snorkelling from the beach is a must do while staying here, my Daughter (whom also stayed for a couple of nights with her Husband), and i were pleasantly surprised when i took her out for her first snorkelling experience, the fish were everywhere and coral was very much alive, makes a change to some places we have stayed at with beach but no sign of life under the surface. My partner used The spa on site, she said it was very nice, but only if you can't go else-where, pricing was a bit much. All-in-all the Recif Attitude had it all, for that relaxing quiet holiday, we were there the end of May which is quiet season, but it suited us with very few other guest's, a place to go when in Mauritius.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are a better option for the sunsets.

Stayed here one week . Mainly French guests with a mixture of other nationalities on top .
Food good . Drinks not too expensive (£5 for a generous Cocktail , £2.50 for a beer ) . Facilities are good quality and were not crowded in May . Evenings were quiet ( even though entertainment was often good ) as the seating was not conducive to socialising .
Local buses ( go right out of Hotel to bus stop ) took us to Grand Bay and Port Louis for very little money ) . A trip to Pamplemousses by Taxi (£30 for 4 hours ) to see the Botanical Gardens and L'Aventure du Sucre was a particular highlight and should not be missed . The local Aquarium was good value also . Manager Mr Raymond was awesome in his hospitality skills . Wi-Fi was slow but free in reception area . Pool excellent . Beach very good and so close .

Room Tip: Pay extra for Beach Front room and request an Upper room as the lower ones are not very private

My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights 14th May 2014. Such a fantastic retreat and a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly, helpful and courteous especially Raymond the manager,Veener, Venna and Cindy - (Not sure on the spellings -). The private beach was just so relaxing and although the beach isn't sandy the sounds of the waves was just so peaceful. The standard of food was good with a wide range of choice. The room was modern and clean. The hotel is 45 mins from the airport (no problems getting taxi) and if I was going there again I would hire a car to explore the island more as the hotel is quite isolated. A perfect place to relax and chill - just wish it wasn't so far away. Thank you for such a wonderful time and hope we can return some day.

A calm retreat.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Mauritius.
This hotel is exactly what we were looking for.
It is not a large hotel where you get lost amongst other guests, but rather a Boutique sized hotel with staff that cares for you and remembers you.
The hotel is positioned along side the beach so if you have a sea side room you will have a good rest.
Our room was on the opposite side to the beach but is still quiet.
The beach is nice for swimming and then you can hop straight over in to the pool.
Some snorkeling gear is available and some paddle boats with a small glass bottom boat that goes out twice a day.
The breakfast buffet was not the usual large spreads that you might find at big international hotels, but rather a small Continental selection.
The dinner alternates with selection menu one night to a buffet the next night.
You can also opt to eat at the restaurant on the beach which has you almost sitting in the sea. This was a great experience.

We were looking for a place to go and relax with out having to worry about doing activities. This was the place. Nothing to disturb us or distract form the aim of relaxing.
We were only there for a week. If you want to do more excursions you need full days to do this, and then still find time to relax, unless you are on an excursion holiday.

Recif Attitude was a great hotel.
Thank you to all the staff and management for your great hospitality.
