Had dinner with a friend at Rice on a Thursday evening, and was very pleased. Rice is slightly off the beaten track (the road dead-ends just another block down), but that means that parking is easy, and it's quiet. The restaurant is inside a small arcade-style mall, and is fairly small. Others have described the decor as "austere," but we found it sleek and modern - if you're looking for the Disney version of a Chinese restaurant, this isn't it.
We had Dim Sum to start - Fried Pork and Watercress Shrimp, both excellent, fresh, and piping hot. Then an order of Sesame Chicken and an order of Szechuan Dice Kung Bo Chicken and Peanut. Again, both well-prepared, with fresh ingredients. My only complaint is that the Szechuan dish, while described as "spicy," didn't have nearly enough fire in it. If you like things spicy, you can safely ask for your dish to be hotter, a lesson I've stashed away in memory for the next visit.
Good service, very friendly people. Prices are a tad high, but not out of line for the area.
