“Decent hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Stayed at this hotel for one night on business trip, the room was big but had a strong smell of tobacco. I did not specifically ask for a non-smoking room, so that was probably my fault.
The bathroom/toilet was tiny, and the toilet ring was loos on the toilet, making going to the toilet more exciting than necessary.
The swimming pool area looked inviting, but did not have a chance to take advantage it.
I only ate breakfast at this hotel, and that was good, with eggs cooked to order.
Be aware that like most hotels in this part of Malaysia there is no alcohol served.

We were upgraded to a suite in the right hand corner of the top floor(13th) and were extremely pleased with the result. We had outstanding views of Kuala Terengganu, the South China Sea and local kampongs.

The meals at the restaurant were quite varied and the breakfast catered adequately for tourist diets. Although buffets tend to be monotonous

The whole room scenario was enjoyable and I would highly recommed the hotel. As with all hotels we stayed at dealing with the Malay staff is very rewarding. They are warm, extremely friendly and kind people.

Unfortunately due to fixed travel we were unable to stay more than one night

We did visit Kota Duyong, a walled house , and discovered under the northern end of the river bridge a boat bulder hand building some traditional boats, workmanship absolutely beautiful.

Room Tip: Any room, on upper levels, facing the sea will provide great views

Stopped one night before going offshore. Hotel was clean with big rooms. Dinner was a buffet it was a limited choice and as we arrived at 9 pm it was almost gone and dried up.
An early start the next morning i was surprised breakfast was laid on. Full buffet again but all cold as they were relying on the spirit burners to warm through.

enjoyed view from room. good size rooms with usual amenities but noisy air con. breakfast was only average but service in the restaurant was very good.front desk service was fast and correct and happy to book cabs etc. for us.
if we had a problem it was the small fact that the front dsk gave differing opening times for the restaurant compared to the actual time, causing us look outside for a meal as we were in need ofa meal after travelling by bus for sometime.
TIP.do not visit fishing village on other side of river mouth as once get there the return ferry could be 5 hours later.

Room Tip: try for water view.

Stayed here for a night, the location is good because it is near to Pasar Payang, a great place to buy souvenirs and food to bring back. another good point is the breakfast. It doesnt offer much options but that includes nasi dagang which is a famous local delicacy here in Terengganu. The nasi dagang is one of the best i ever tasted.

The hotel has age and this can be seen by the time you enter the lobby. all looks old even the clothes worn by the front desk staffs. However, the staffs are friendly and polite. The room is big and spacious, but you can see that the furniture and fittings are old. The bathroom while being big also inherit the same problem. The bath tub and sink could use a makeover. The bed and pillow however are comfortable and you will get a good night sleep.

Another down point is the lack of parking space. At night, the car park is full and you may have to park a bit further away from the hotel. The hotel is surprisingly full during the weekend, could be due to it's cheap rate and also Terengganu is lacking some 4 - 5 star hotels.

Overall, this hotel should not be your first choice.

Room Tip: Take upper level rooms

Very underwhelming hotel. Positives were big room size and decent pool area. Public areas are run down and location not great - a good 15 minute walk to the centre. Service poor. On checking in the receptionist managed to screw up the credit card transaction which resulted in my card being blocked and the first half an hour of my stay calling my uk bank. I then paid cash- it took them 15 minutes the next morning to refund the deposit. Breakfast woeful- first time I have ever had stone cold chicken frankfurters.

Room was a good size but bathroom needed upgrading. We had a delicious evening meal. Breakfast left something to be desired. The choice was poor and cold and there was more activity in the marmalade bowl, ants, than the staff. Thank goodness we only stayed one night!!!!
