“Poor service and dirty room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2010

The shuttle is advertised to run every 30 mins from KLIA, but I waited at the airport for 2 hrs before the shuttle had any room for me since there were more than 100 people already waiting for the bus. The hotel should have run an extra bus to cater for the additional guests.

The staff looked tired and couldn't be bothered with smiling or providing any service. When I complained about the bus delay the front desk lady just frowned and mumbled something. When I asked for the manager, he just said "We only have one shuttle and you have to wait for your turn." That's not exactly the tone I expected.

The room was quite scary. There's a long outdoor corridor that leads to the rooms and it was a little dark and you could hear and see insects crawling and flying around. There were spiders and several centipede that I actually spotted inside the room.

I will never be returning to this hotel, I'd rather pay more and stay at a nicer hotel.

Location was fine. Booked for 1 night as we had an early morning flight. Drove up to the hotel through security gates, fine. Entered reception, fine. Restaurant, congierge, limosine booking, table laid out with drinks. Then we were shown to our room. Disappointed is not the word, disgusted is. The room was dirty, very dirty. Set right at the back of the grounds with a door that looked as f it had been kicked in. I rang the front desk to say that I had booked a superior room and was told that I was in a superior room. I asked to be moved & was very bluntly asked why. After a long conversation and an equally long wait we were moved, nearer to the reception but my god the room was just as dirty. We stuck to the carpet, had something floating in the toilet, a hole in the wall & did not sleep at all as we were frightened what was going to crawl about in the night. To make things worse someone was given a key to the room at 3am and was very indignant when I said that it was our room. I was told that he had been given that room and that I should ring reception, to which I told him to "go away". When I complained in the morning I was told that maybe no one knew we were in that room. Mmm. The whole hotel is very reminiscent of 1960's Pontins. Need I say more.

If the Tune Hotel at the airport is fully booked, this is your next best option. Approximately 15 minutes by taxi at a cost of 42 ringgits, the Concorde Inn offers comfortable accommodation between flights. Positives, great breakfast, big rooms, clean linen, negatives, a lot more expensive than Tune Hotel at the airport and further away. Disappointed this time in the slow check out, took about 20 minutes waiting in a queue as only one receptionist. This is my second stay here, but I will probably be back as convenient and clean.

As our business meetings were near the airport, the Concorde was booked as most convenient. There is a free shuttle to the main KLIA airport terminal but a shuttle to the low-cost terminal has a charge.

The staff was very good in responding to requests and always very helpful. The room was spacious but spartan, but very clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioner was very noisy during the night - why can't they install outside and just have air flow inside? We had access to free internet (although at times a bit slow).

The restaurant had problems with the morning buffet service. Most items seemed to be not available or cold. It is unfortunate because they had quite a variety of foods, both western and local.

The location is good if you need to be near the airport for departure or late arrivals, if you cannot book the KLIA terminal-attached Pan Pacific.

Concorde Inns' close proximity to KL Int'nl Airport was the main reason we decided to book in for our one night stopover en route to Cambodia. However, once there you remain a captive audience due to its' location.

The impressive looking reception foyer belies what's in store when you arrive at your room; don't be deceived, they don't have a great deal going for them. First & lasting impressions were of "dorm style" accommodation at a holiday camp. The bed was firm & quite comfortable although this did little to aid a good night sleep, with the continual jet engine noises of planes taking off & landing all night. There is certainly no sound proofing in these rooms! The rates charged far exceed the standard of these rooms.

The restaurant offered a substantial choice of cuisine to cater to all tastes; the dining area was large and spacious however again held an aura of "dormitory canteen". On the upside, the buffet offered value for money; the array & standard of food was substantial and appetising. Beverages are very expensive so stick to the complimentary tea & coffee.

If returning for a longer stay in KL, we would definitely seek accommodation closer to the city centre and attractions. The trip from the Concorde into KL is approx 70kms, so this hotel to our way of thinking, is suitable only for a nightly stopover or a location to hold a business conference.

The plus side of staying here is the location and the food. But if you are flying on Air Asia and out of the low cost terminal, you have to pay 20 ringgits a person for the shuttle to the airjport. If you have 2 or more people in your party, a taxi from a better hotel would be cheaper. The rooms are quite basic and the air conditioner was totally inadequate.

I stayed 37 nights in Concorde Inn KLIA so I had time to experience the best and the worst about this hotel.

Sadly, there's more of the second than of the first.

Internet connection is free and unlimited, yes, when it works. For some reason everytime it rains internet connection goes down for at least 24 to 48 hours. And unfortunately it rains once every 2 or 3 days!

Service in pool and restaurant area is  quite poor and inconsistent. Sometimes superb and sometimes unacceptable.

Staff are friendly, room service works ok and breakfast is pretty good, with a nice 5 hours margin to go and enjoy. Gym is small but normally empty and does his function. Pool is ok and not too crowded normally.

Rooms are old style but clean, housekeeping is inconsistent. They are initially quiet but for some stupid reason the floor in the alleys is so noisy when the trolleys are passing thru (remember it is a transit hotel). A cheap carpet could solve the issue...

There's also a pretty much pointless door alarm system that disturbs all the surrounding rooms in a 20 meter radious when you don't lock properly the door. I still can't figure out why it is so essential when 5* hotels don't have it!

There are restaurants across the road and convenience shops where it is easy to go and eat or get any urgent stuff. Business centre at hotel does not even deserve a qualification since it is useless.

Conclusion, ok for a night or two if you get a good price. Definitely much more value than Pan Pacific for the price (even 5 times more expensive a night).
