“Good but room layout can be improved”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2009

I was happy that I was given a complimentary up-grade to a junior suite room from the executive deluxe room.

The layout was a bit off ie the room was really huge and long and the lightings seems to make the place looked a bit dodgy. Same goes for the bathoom which was again huge but for the shower place, lighting was poor so I feel uncomfortable bathing in there. The bathroom has full amenities. The view of this suite is not fantastic though and the ambience lacks the lustre (perhaps due to age or design?).

The bathroom was very clean and so was the room. Air-con very cold though. The spread at breakfast was quite good.

The location is away from major shopping centres like The curve and No 1 Utama shopping centres. If you drive, you may also miss the entrance of the hotel if you miss a turn and need to make one round to find the hotel again.

Overall, I am satisfied with the hotel and the price is reasonable.

This is a business class hotel. We booked the room without breakfast, so I don't know much about the food in the hotel itself.

Location of this hotel is somewhat confusing and hidden from the highway view. So, it was easy for us to miss the hotel, and after a wandering a bit more around the place, we found it (your landmark is Menara Star, find this place and the hotel is somewhere around it).

Good stuff: Comfortable bed and pillows, classy bathrooms (bathtub, separate shower room), basic amenities such as kettle, iron, ironing board, TV, hair dryer, mini fridge were provided. Clean place. Check in was smooth. We arrived late, but they held our room until our arrival (payment was only made when we checked in). Clear reception of TV channels. Complimentary daily newspaper (The Star). Free wifi from the room!

Not so good stuff: We were given smoking room (which we did not request for), so the smell was horrible. The carpets in the room do look old and aged. Location of the hotel. There were no nearby restaurants around ( I wonder where the other travelers found the Indian restaurant next to the building). We had our own car, so we managed to find our way around PJ town to get our meals. So you need arrange your own transport if you want to move around.

If you're traveling without your own transport, then this is not your place unless you're willing to fork out money for taxis. The hotel is located along Sprint Highway and is quite near to Midvalley Megamall (5-10 minutes driving). I liked my stay here, because the room was comfortable, and clean.
