“JUST Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2010

No doubt about this property, one should book this when planning for the the Theme Park.

We got a complimentary upgarde to a Suite on 11th Level and we all just loved it.

Food it great at SAGAR Indian Restaurant at the VIP Lobby, please ask for it at reception an they might just give you discount voucher for 20% as we also got it.

Views at night at the entrance of the hotel are amazing and domes have very very good lighting just as seen in the hotel website.

Breakfast was served at Sun'n'Surf cafe at level 1 and has Indian Choices as well.

Overall, highly satisfied....

We stayed at this resort as a "holiday" from our UK holiday prior to our return to Australia, and from the moment we arrived knew we had made a great choice. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and made a wonderful fuss of my two small children. After 5 weeks of traveling we were relieved to know that everything we needed was right there in the one complex.
My children were too young for the theme and water parks but the pool and surrounds within the resort provided more than enough entertainment and relaxation for all of us.

The buffet breakfast had great variety including plenty of choices for kids and I highly recommend a visit to the attached day spa

Spent 5 days at the resort with my 2 young children. We had a great stay, our room was excellent and well serviced. Staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We spent pretty much the whole week in the hotel pool or next door at the shopping complex. We had a package that included daily breakfast, which had a fabulous variety and the kids enjoyed. For the money we spent on flights and accommodation as family holidays go we'll be back to Sunway Lagoon Hotel sometime soon.

We are travelling with a family of 5 and I am writing this review from our premier executive suite at Sunway resort- we have had the most relaxing and wonderful first part of our stay in Malaysia. After our first flight with kids, we were overwhelmed at the luxury and space of the Premier exec suite (our Malaysian friend upgraded us prior to our arrival -so pleased she did) and courteous and efficient staff. We had originally booked the Family affair package (rooms approx 37sqm as opposed to 75sqm of suites). We arrived at 930pm and were simply gobsmacked at the standard of this resort. The lobby is impressive ("so cool but a bit over the top" says 10yr old daughter). The standard premier room would be great for a family of 4, however with a toddler in tow the room enabled us to enjoy our time here a lot more. The King bed is heavenly with feather down under the sheets, massive european pillows, a complimentary roll away sofa bed AND pull out sofa bed, cloak room just at the entrance, separate dining room space, two plasma TVs-one with DVD, Nespresso coffee machine maker-hubbie LOVED this, complimentary fruit basket, lovely desk, excellent climate control and best of all the most impressive bathroom with circular massive bath with waterfall water input and the most inviting shower (some kind of natural sandstone tiles on floor) with a 30cm round rainforest shower head on the ceiling! The most relaxing shower! Oh and a regal chandelier above the dining table..and a view overlooking the villa pond and gardens and water themed park. The breakfast buffet is included and happily staffed by attentive staff. They are great with kids. Don't forget to ask for a cappuccino! Better than coffee they pour at the tables. The breakfast is most definitely an international affair with western tastes catered for. We trial most food items on offer as that is part of the excitement of travelling abroad. There is more than enough to select from-one of the best spreads I have sampled..and I love my food! A few styles of croissants, heaps of friands, cupcakes, donuts, breads, porridges, hummus, roti cani, chicken rendang!, cereals, fruits, noodles, sauteed mushrooms, hash browns, smoked salmon, steamed buns, nuts, yoghurts, smoothies, eggplant, dahl...the list goes on. Oh and the egg station- 3 yr old loved the ham and cheese omelette. The resort pool is wonderfully refreshing. Shallower areas for kids under 5-6yrs and also a free flowing landscaped pool formation with caves and bridges etc that make it an exciting place for kids and adults alike. Cocktails by the pool were a bit pricey for Malaysian standards and not presented well at all IMO. Gym was large and nicely air-conditioned. Complimentary green towels for pool guests. The Sunway mall is VERY close- 2 min walk by interconnecting convenient walkway. Heaps to see, do, buy and eat! All tastes catered for. Digi world top level great for IT buffs. See Adrian Lee from Gadget Arena on top floor to buy local MAXIM sim card (under 8RM) and can top up with 10, 20, 30Rm -he sets it up for you-too easy! I got a total package for 35rm! Room service from AVANTI's pizza was $30 aust for 3 large thin traditional and authentic pizza delivered on silver service trolley to our room. The BEST tasting pizzas-almost matches the ones we ate in Venice. We mainly ate at the mall next door-however after a couple of early morning jet lagged starts we all had a seista and happily ordered in pizza while escaping the humidity for a while. Any other questions send me a PM-more than happy to respond. Overall, IMO (and my families) we truly believe and highly recommend this resort for both Mums, Dads and kids! The 5 theme parks (all in one area) are closed Tuesdays, however we went today (wednesday) and used the 3 pass option- had a ball- plenty for everyone. I was very keen to take photos from the Worlds longest suspension bridge -but for some reason thought it would be more 'fixed' and not so swaying! For my husband and I it was the worlds longest walk across a bridge as it totally freaked BOTH of us out- much to the amusement of our kids...and everyone we passed! There are gaps in the floor! (grates, grills and then a wider plank at one end so you can see below..great!)..memorable! Heaps of rides to choose from and you MUST go to the Animal world- amazing!!! Mostly we heard Aussie accents- many many Australian families. Oh the mall has indoor activities such as ARCHERY, 10 pin bowling, skating, ferris wheel, fun dodgem cars, train rides etc. There is a supermarket and laundramat there also. So yes, An absolute must for families!

Luxurious hotel connected to Water/Theme parks and Shopping mall.

Our booking was for 2 interconnected rooms but we were upgraded to a suite & connected room. The suite was spacious with a king size bed, sofa bed, dinning table and 2 TV sets. The 2nd room had two twin beds.

Everything was just perfect, staff super friendly, great location. The rooms came with a grand breakfast buffet offering eggs, pancakes, pastries, fresh fruits, sandwiches ...

The we loved the water park and shopping mall.

I would recommend staying at this hotel for at least 2 full days

We stayed for 2 nights here before proceeding to KL city. Arrived by cab from KLIA which cost about 80+RM, journey about 30-40 min.

The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we stepped from the cab, opening our door and carrying our luggage, with smiles on their faces. As we arrived early at 10 am, our room was not ready yet, so we visited the nearby shopping mall while waiting for their call. Step out of the hotel entrance, turn left and walk into a sheltered path which linked to the theme park and the shopping mall. The hotel entrance and lobby looked posh and grand. Overall, this hotel excluded a more magnificent bearing as compared to its sister hotel, Pyramid Hotel located further away.

The mall was hugh, with many shops and eating places of various choices, making it convenient to settle your meals in the mall.

The room was a good size for a family of 4 with 2 oversized single beds which were comfortable. As usual, our sleeping arrangement was a parent with one child on a bed. Room was clean with contemporary and stylish furnishings, somehow the lighting lit up the room a glow and coziness. Verdict, we loved it !

The surroundings of the hotel was well-maintained and beautiful, there was a short cut to the theme park too.. walked out of the cafe where breakfast was served and turned right.

Overall, this is a perfect place to be if you are visiting Sunway Lagoon Resort with the theme park and shopping....

We had reviewed this resort and were quite comfortable with going there as long as we were in the Sunway Resort Hotel and not the Pyrimid Hotel. As we were 2 adults with 2 children we booked on like for a Resort Suite.. When checking in we were told that we had booked at the Pyrimid towers resort suites. There online information had showen nothing to suggest it was at the pyrimid towers. The price was a 5star price and I was not a happy person on checking in. When asked for a speciic room in the resort, I was charged a walk in rate double the price. The resort suites were good, but the check in process and the fact that I had been decieved from false advertising had put a sour taste in my mouth. Overall there service is shocking, from directions and escorting of products. They have alot to desire. The hotel is great, easy access to the themepark, mall and pools are awesome. The mall is massive and has an ice rink at the bottom. Will probably not visit again this part of KL. But it was good for an overnight stopover on the way home to Australia. Hotel good, service shocking..... The suites are good for families with full facilities available if that is what you desire in your holiday. I didn't want it but it was good if you did..... Hotel swimming pool FANTASTIC FOR CHILDREN.. however no Kids Club....
