“Under renovation.......for years!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Most of the exhibits I hoped to see we're locked away while renovation was going on. I especially wanted to see the stuff "Rajah" Brooks had collected

“A must-see on your free & easy tour day!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

..tremendous collections of preserved samples of animals, from birds, mammals, reptiles to fish, for display. And this was the first time I have ever seen a dinasaour's bone fossil! Not forgetting the cultural items on top floor, ritual masks, some old photos of original longhouses and its occupants. It was indeed a good exposure to Borneon culture...!

“Nice displays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

As with all the museums in Kuching it is free. Several museum to visit. The old building houses a collection of old skins and other pieces of natural history pertaining to Sarawak. Many of the bird skins were collected over 100 years ago. Interesting for a quick look around. There is also an aquarium behind the building. Across the footbridge is the new wing and has a fine display of the cultural history of Sarawak. All worth a visit.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

There are several museums here split by a main road, access via a footbridge. Not overly impressed by the stuffed animals in the Natural History Museum. Some of the snakes looked to have been painted. Plenty of artifacts, boats religious idols and weapons to be seen. The 'new' museum was having its displays refurbished so only part of the top floor was open. This was interesting though with an insight into burial practices and a potted history of Sarawak. Overall well worth a couple of hours wandering around in the A/C. Better than the nearby Shopping Malls.
