“Interesting, but touristy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We didn't have the time to go to a real longhouse, so this was a way of seeing something of the lifestyles of the Sarawak natives. The Melanau and Orang Ulu tall houses are especially impressive, the grounds are pretty but many of the smaller elements didn't feel quite so genuine and it's a long bumpy ride to get there.

“OK PLACE”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Its an ok place to go if you are on a rush tour. Place is badly kept and only interesting place there is the Chinese Farm House. The rest was badly maintained. Show at theatre was boring!

“A place where you can learn about the people in Kuching”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

It's a great place where you can learn all about the tribes of people living in Kuching.
Though we only get to visit half of the place (due to granny getting tired easily) i have already learnt quite alot about the different tribes in Kuching.

Do go for the show, quite boring at the start, but, was really fun after that.

“A great place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

i like how i can visit the whole sarawak ethnic in one place. it is very informative. the house owners will greet you but doesnt approach you. If you'd chat with them only then they will explain about their background. they were more then happy to answer any question that i have. it is a great place to visit if you are interested to learn about Sarawak's culture.

“Great introduction to early tribal life in Sarawak”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

The Sarawak Cultural Village ranks in the top group of ethnic villages we have visited on several continents. The various ethnic tribe's houses are well presented and comfortably spaced in the nicely landscaped park with pond, lush tropical vegetation and even a waterfall. Demonstrations of every day life tasks are performed in the houses with artifacts and various utensil decorating walls and rooms. Not being a friend of endless tour guide explanations, we traveling independently enjoyed the verbal interaction with the residents in the houses. They were ready to answer questions and offered explanations when asked.

Absolutely not to be missed is the cultural show in the air conditioned theater. The show is included in the ticket price and is a jewel of ethnic dancing, artistry, and blowpipe skill demonstration, performed in beautiful native gowns and accompanied by a Gamelan orchestra.
