“Fun visit, with great city view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

The Cat Museum is a real oddity, but a fun place to see if time allows. It has thousands of representations of cats from all over, and from all ages. Since "Kutching" means "cat", and since cats certainly abound in the area, this city is an appropriate place for such a museum. Its location on a high hill, in a beautiful and uniquely designed building, are 2 more reasons for a quick peak at the cats!

“small and cute museum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

we set the GPS and turn around the DBKU building and look for the museum...finally it was located in the corner just right hand from the information counter.
Just walk and see and nothing much can say.
Free entrance fees but need to pay RM4 for per camera.

“Awful! Dire models of cats. A tourist 'attraction' included in City tour but without merit”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Taken here by our guide as part of city tour. Avoid it unless you like cutesy cat models. We asked to leave after 10 minutes.

“Very detailed, a lot more than expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

A very pleasant visit for a cat lover and may convert those not quite liking cats. Obviously put together with a lot of love for our feline companions- very educational, with lots of information and funny stories about them throughout the museum. It also has a good section on local history.
Get there by local bus from main station near Kuching mosque.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Listed as a key tourist sight, this was very disappointing. It's a haphazard collection of cat ornaments etc, with no other theme or real interest. Worth going on the bus tour, however, for the beautiful views over the city and mountains beyond. There was no food or drink available as it was Ramadan.
