“Comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

The hotel is very comfortable with a good buffet breakfast. There is a nice coffee shop that sells cakes to take out which are half price after 9.00pm; always good if you are feeling a little peckish!
There is also a lovely pool which has a separate children's pool.

Fairy lights amidst cloudy skies describes the night scene from the room window.

Unlike the first visit, which did not sit well, this visit was timed with rain clouds. Hence the sunset was a muted one. however, this time around I managed to catch the river boats going upstream with cloud covered mountain tops in the background. When night fell, the lights along the riverfront resembled fairy lights floating on the water.

Nevertheless the view this room offered was a notch better than the first time as the mosque building was its centre focus.

The air con in the lobby seemed to be working better this time around too, during low human traffic periods.

The room was clean and amenities sufficient. Ordered room service and found the malay rice tasty.

However, some items at their breakfast buffet tasted a tad too salty. Hopefully, F&B dept can look into this.

Room Tip: River View rooms on the right of the lift lobby

Will most definitely come back to THIS Hilton ~ Good value for money. Very helpful staff especially at the Lobby's coffee house. I bought some small cakes and had to divide them into 3 different portions, the lady very kindly helped out.

This is a lovely place. Kuching is a bit mad and grubby (sorry), but the Hilton is a very high standard hotel with all the amenities you would look for in a decent place.
Good gym with plenty of different equipment, lovely pool, well furnished rooms and a choice of restaurants. Great location on the waterfront.
Minor moan about having to pay for in room Internet, but that's a Hilton thing, not a Hilton Kuching thing.
I would return.

Room Tip: even numbers face the waterfront

We stayed there on the 7 and 8 September 2013 and were generally pleased with the hotel.
The rooms look new and modern. The breakfast was however below my expectation, as I would expect it to be much better, for a 5 star hotel.

Another thing which I was less pleased about was that they closed the back entrance (coffee house, which link it to the waterfront) at night. I had to walk from the hotel front entrance and walk around to the waterfront to enjoy my night supper by the riverbank. It was dark at certain areas which I was not comfortable with.

Overall the hotel was ok and I would recommend others to stay there.

Room Tip: They could have provided us with the waterfront view but then there was a regatta event happening wh...

Thank you for your feedback. We regret we were not able to provide you with the quality of food you expected. We are constantly working to improve our menu offerings and your comments will help us to improve in this area.

We noted your comment about the entrance from our coffee house to the Kuching Waterfront. Due to security reasons, this entrance is only open from 7am to 11pm. We hope you understand.

We stayed here for five nights at the end of July 2013, our room was massive with river views, everything was clean and comfortable. The staff in the coffee lounge and pool bar are very friendly and attentive and made our stay a pleasure. The pool isn't huge but it was never over crowded. There is a huge selection in the breakfast buffet but my only complaint is that the food that should be hot was cold even though they were sitting in warmers. The breakfast staff were a tad slow in bringing any requests such as tea and coffee. This hotel would have to be in one of the best locations, we did a lot of walking and compared where we were staying to other hotels and were so pleased with our choice of the hilton. No free wifi in the rooms but we enjoyed sitting in the coffee lounge on our iPads where they have free wifi.

Room Tip: Choose a river facing room, window is huge and view is spectacular.

Good service from staff of all levels. Club lounge staff are very helpful and attentive. The breakfast spread is awesome. The evening cocktail at the executive lounge serves nice snacks, beer, wines, liquor and fresh juices. The view from the executive lounge overseeing the waterfront is relaxing. There is WIFI in the lounge & a small little corner that serves as a mini Business Centre for your immediate office support.

Room Tip: Should upgrade your room to the executive floor to enjoy the privileges as described above.
